The Broads is also one of Europe's most popular inland waterways. Once an essential transport network, today the waterways are used for recreation, the whole of the Broads area attracting more than two million visitors a year.
The picturesque village of Horning boasts several riverside pubs and restaurants; a range of shops including a delicatessen, post office, butchers, newsagent and gift shops are all within walking distance of Ferry Marina. The award-winning Bewilderwood outdoor adventure park is just a short distance away, with its magical treehouses and intriguing characters bringing a curious difference to the Broads.
