What a fabulous place. Took the whole of the family to celebrate my wife's sixtieth. Graet big house that is full of character and classic furniture but strangely enough you don't worry about the kids who thought it was brilliant for " Hide and Seek". Had a meal cooked in by their resident caterer which was excellent. Just a short hop to the coast Not the cheapest but go on spoil yourself. a memory to be cherished Response: Thank you for the great review - much appreciated. Ruth |

Our highlights were: the splendid drawing room - ideal for relaxing with the newspapers and for pre dinner drinks, the music room, plenty of activities to keep our 10-17 year olds amused, well-equipped and much-used kitchen, full size billiard table. |

25 of us spent a fantastic long weekend for our annual family get-together ( this was our second visit to Skendleby Hall ). On arrival the house, grounds and setting are most impressive. We received a very warm welcome and made to feel immediately at home. Inside, the house is enormous, the rooms are very well furnished, extremely comfortable and fantastically equipped. We made full use of the kitchen facilities and had a great time all sitting down together for long dinners. Around the house, the full size snooker room, grand piano, games rooms ( table tennis, table football etc) were all used to the full and outside much fun was had playing crocquet and cricket on the lawns. The setting is delightful, looking out over the rolling countryside of the Lincolnshire Wolds, but sadly the weather this year intervened in our plans to make full use of the barbeque facilities. Over the years we have stayed in a number of large houses for family get togethers, but Skendleby is right up there at the top of my list for its quality, comfort and facilities. |
