The Devon region

The South Hams is the Jewel in Devon's crown. Lush countryside meets beautiful coastline and in between interesting towns, villages and the fringes of Dartmoor National Park, offer something for everyone.

The region has plenty of attractions from National Trust properties, Castles and Gardens to children's attractions such as Woodlands Adventure Park near Dartmouth.

Foodies will love this area, the region hosting an unbelievable selection of fine dining restaurants, many of our top chefs originating from Devon.

A walkers paradise the countryside is crisscrossed with designated footpaths and bridleways, and the coastal path is never far away. Visit Kingsbridge, the main town of the region, a thriving town with a lovely selection of shops and restaurants.

Hope Cove

The area is also renowned for its unique flora and fauna with a nature reserve close by at Slapton Ley. Hope Cove holds immense appeal for families who wish to enjoy a traditional beach holiday, children will have hours of fun building sandcastles and dams and exploring the rock pools for crabs and small fish. If you decide on a change of scenery you will be spoilt for choice as the area has a wealth of sandy beaches and coves. The popular sailing resort of Salcombe lies just 2 miles away and for those keen to experience the dramatic beauty of this South Devon coastline on foot, follow the South West Coastal Path from the beach that will take you through Salcombe and Thurlestone and other coastal villages. Fishing, golf and sailing are all popular local pastimes and the coastline with its numerous shipwrecks attracts divers from all over.
