About the home

16th century stone house in quiet one way street. The property is comfortable and fully equipped.

Conveniently located only few minutes from all amenities, swimming pool, crazy golf, park with several gardens and statuary, shops, restaurants, museums etc.

The nearest beach is at the end of town equipped with beach huts, showers, paddling pool etc.

Nearest patisserie only 5 minutes walk from the house through town square.

Numerous Art galleries from the days of Boudin, Monet and Satie.

Kitchen has been completely refurbished in February 2011 and now has all mod cons.

Bedding is provided but not towels.

Please note there is no bedding for travel cot provided.

Please note that due to the age of the property, the stairs are spiral and may not be suitable for those with limited mobility.

There is parking next to the house for 8 cars, first come first served and a free park 5 minutes away at the Naturospace, otherwise parking is allowed on one side of the road nearby, changing fortnightly.

It is wise to take out cancellation insurance as deposits are non refundable unless re-booked.

A 25% deposit of the full rental is payable on booking. The remainder of rent due plus £80 a week security deposit (refundable on return of keys) is payable 8 weeks before holiday.

The Normandy / Calvados region

Normandy is one of the best known region of France. It offers a 360 mile of wonderful coastline including the evocative World War II landing beaches, with a vibrant interior of lush farmland, market towns and historical cities such as Caen, Bayeux and Rouen but not forgetting Deauville for fashion and Fecamp monastry.

The Honfleur area

Honfleur nestles in a valley between the Seine estuary and the plateau or the Pys d'Auge, still a fishing port and now a popular yacht harbour surrounded by ancient buildings.

The pretty coastal town of Honfleur, close to the ferry ports of Le Havre and Caen, is ideal for a short trip from the UK.

The beach is close to the town centre and can be reached with a pleasant walk through the beautiful public gardens. It is sandy and from midsummer it is nice to have a swim as well as sunbathing.

LD lines Ferry from Portsmouth to Le Havre -- 11 km to Honfleur (20 minutes)

Brittany ferries from Portsmouth to Caen -45 minutes to Honfleur.

Various other ferries go from Poole and Newhaven, it takes 2-3 hours from Euro tunnel to get to Honfleur.

CityJet run a service four times a week during the summer months from London City airport to Deauville. Flight time is less than an hour.

“Could have been perfect, but for....” Very old house with plenty of character and in the middle of Honfleur. Kitchen well equipped and best room in house for sitting in. Lounge has very old TV, bedroom electricals all tired looking as is all bedroom and lounge furniture. However, Honfleur is a super place!! Car parking: do not rely on road adjacent to house; never free for us in June. Ended up parking up to 15 mins walk away. Unsuitable for anyone with mobilty problems as stairs are uneven, steep as house so old. Take care if you are tall, my son had several encounters with low beams etc No welcome pack and we arrived to find fridge not on and no hot water which was not good after long journey. Beds not made up and some stained pillows, mattress covers etc. Depends whether that sort of thing bothers you. Response: The property is a 16th century house and all furniture and fittings are in keeping with its style and age. The advert clearly states that car parking is available in the street on a first come first basis and there is a free public car park five minutes away. We do not provide a welcome pack, however, instructions are sent to guests prior to their visit. These state that the fridge and the immersion heater for hot water will not be on and will need to be switched on upon arrival. On this occasion the beds were not made up because the cleaner let us down. This matter has been dealt with and was a one-off.
