About the home

The property is spacious at 160 square metres plus and ideal for a relaxing holiday. Beaches are less than an hours drive or the Spanish interior can be explored. Also ideal for hiking or just exploring by car.

English and Spanish shopping is available in the village, there are also various styles of restaurants locally. Golf courses also fishing are all within easy reach. There is also use of a 5 seater car in the price certain conditions apply and there is no reduction if it is not included. Library of 700 plus of various types of books and a large collection of DVDs comedy, musicals and fiction for use by guest.

Linen, bedding and towels are included also pool towels; there are electric radiators and air conditioning in the bedrooms, an automatic self feed wood pellet fire in the lounge which warms the whole house. There is a marble staircase that goes up to the second floor.

The owners have their own shower room and toilet facilities in a separate building they respect their guest privacy but are on hand for pool cleaning and general maintenance if needed, they do not use the pool or the area surrounding it when guest are visiting. Registered with the Valencia Tourist Board No 428664.

The house is naturally cool in the summer months and there are two ceiling fans in the lounge. The house is not very old and therefore fresh and light, all bedrooms have hot or cold Air Conditining. The Central heating is by an automatic self feed wood pellet fire in the lounge and hot and cold Air Conditioning units in the bedrooms.

The Television is the FreeSat system with about 140 station popuar television stations.

There is an 8 metre x 4 metre pool with sunbeds on a terrace. Children must be supervised at all times around the pool area, there is a toilet and a further shower facilities with hot water in the pool area also an outside shower; there is a sun terrace with seating beside the pool also a pergola for sitting in the shade with a fridge for cold drinks. Visitors can also sit on Frailes View and look at the breathtaking views of the valley with the village a mile away, or sit either in Ivy Corner, West Side or the Courtyard for quiet complete relaxation. GOLF there are ten courses within an hours drive from the villa, also a golf society in the village who would be pleased to assist. We accept smoking outside but not in the house or covered areas.

Each bedroom on the first floor has a balcony overlooking the Spanish countryside, and the front porch has views overlooking the front gardens. There are 9 separate secluded seating areas.

Further details

The owners live in a separate annex at the rear of the property with their own drive from the road although for convenience they may use the front drive; because of the many secluded seating areas there is no interference by them with guests, but are available if needed. The owners do not use the pool when there are visiting guests.

Whilst the property has disabled facilities with easy access, 2 ground floor bedrooms and shower facilities with hand rails and seat plus an en suite they would need to be accompanied as the kitchen is not suitable, all the doorways in the property are standard openings.

Conditions

We are sorry we cannot accept pets as we have two small dogs of our own. Smoking is only allowed outside the house away from doors. but be careful with the lighted end the adjoining fields are very dry in the summer months.
A refundable deposit is required.

Payment can be made in Euros or pounds sterling or any other currency providing the exchange charges are paid by the client. .

We will meet clients free of charge at either Alicante or Murcia airports within the day light hours of 8 to 8

The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region

Hondon Valley is to the west of the Sierras (mountains) Crevillente which run north to south about eighteen miles from the coast of the Costa Blanca. The traditional work of the people that live in the valley is agriculture, mainly grapes of all types growing on the acres of vines stretching in extended lines hanging from props.

There are also olive trees some of which are hundreds of years old and still producing strong yearly crops from which the delightful local oil is pressed. The Almond trees blossom in January into pink and white flowers followed by green foliage, the nuts being fully developed by the Autumn. There are nature walks around the village, small bars, restaurants, small shops; eighteen miles away the large town of Elche has modern shops and retail centres also large hypermarkets, in the centre of which is the old fort, cathedral and recreational park.

Golf
The development of Golf Courses is ongoing and there are now ten complete courses within an hours drive from the house, a new course is being built only 3 miles over the mountain from the front gate, five miles further on there is a new finished championship course at Algorfa with excellent facilities.

Average daytime temperature is around 30 degrees with Alicante having the warmest winter sunshine.

The Hondon de los Frailes area

In the summer months there are fiestas in the towns and villages with Elche having the largest firework display in Europe on 13th August. Besides the many beaches in the various seaside towns there are Museums and Churches. There are also free coach rides to Blanket Factories and the quaint village of Guadalest with it's ancient Monastery.

For night life there are shows of all types in theatres or restaurants nearer the coast with the Benidorm Palace an hours drive away for which we can organise transport .

“Excellent Villa- Lovely location, very quiet and peaceful” I travelled to Casa Fuente largo with my wife 10 year old son, step-daughter 18 and her boyfriend 21, we arrived in the early morn to be greeted by Percy at the airport and we were conveyed to the Villa at , i hasten to say no extra expense, upon arriving i was amazed by the size of the place it was a lovely and beautifully decorated home in the middle of know where which was nice as we like a nice quiet spot. Percy and Jean could not have done enough for us on our stay and although we did invite them for the odd drink they stayed out of the way and we did not even know they were there. The gardens and pool area are very well maintained and spotlessly clean and tidy as is the house. I would recommend this Villa to all my friends it is a very lovely house in a beautiful and quiet location. During our stay we also had use of the car which was very well priced and of good use.

“Excellent setting and very good value for money” Hi we the forrest family have rented the villa for 3 years in a row and we have booked for a fourth visit, the villa is very well maintained and caters for upto 9 people which we had stay in 2011, jean and percy make perfect hosts and we see them for approx 5% of the time over a 14 day stay and if needed they are always available to help. we generally walk to the village one night for a meal and then have a barbecue the next night and eat outside in one of the many eating areas which are kept clean and tidy. the pool is kept very clean and safety is very good around the whole villa so again a great setting for a family and no need to put your towel on a sunbed as adequate beds are provided around the pool. the villa has all mod cons and there is very little you will need to buy during your visit and lastly the weather is fantastic and the odd day you have cloud then jump in the car and travel 35mins to guardamarar beach where the sun always seems to shine.

“Disappointing” This villa had the potential to be a great private away from it all 2 week holiday that my family were really looking forward to. The reality was quite different. The villa is not private, the owners live on site between the house and the pool. We had to pass them every time we wanted to use the pool. There windows and blinds were constantly open when we used the pool which was irritating. There was no mention in their advert that they had 2 little yappie dogs who constantly roamed the grounds and did their business by the pool and the side of the house that was supposed to be for the barbeque. The private bbq area was in front of the front doors to the owners home so it was not private. The owners could not have cared less whether we were happy or not with the accommodation. This is the worst private villa holiday we have ever had and i really feel the advert is a gross misrepresentation of what was provided when we arrived. I will never book here again and will be very selective in what i book through holiday lettings if they fail to check the validity of their adverts. Response: It is with regret that the guests were not happy although nothing was said at the time and on a number of occasions they needed our assistance which we willingly gave, that is one reason why we are there. They were also asked several times if they had any problems and if they were comfortable, and the reply was always 'everything was great.' Casa FuenteLargo is built on 4000 square metres of land about half of which is landscaped and totally private with no neighbours. Our private accommodation occupies just over 100 m2 of this space, guests have the use of the remainder. The house for the guests is 190 square metres. In the grounds there are 9 secure and private seating areas for the guests, besides our own single unit. Privacy is very important to us, we work an eight hour day in an office which does not overlook any of the grounds. There are only two windows overlooking the pool area which have blinds drawn all day for three reasons, we have no wish to look at people bathing nor do we want guests looking into our living area, the windows are south facing and blinds keep the sun out otherwise it would make our premises unbearably hot. We never use the pool area even when we have no visitors. We do not understand their referral to Barbeques. There are two built in barbeques. One gas fired in the courtyard with an adjoining covered eating area where guests can enjoy the pleasure of eating out doors. We do not interfere. Most of our visitors look on us as friends who are ready to help, for any reason, 24 hours a day, and of course we keep the pool clean. Our advertising and web site make it quite clear that we live on the property and we have 2 dogs, most properties in this area have more than that. One is a 14 year old and does not care about anything and sleeps most of the day, also being a Jack Russell rarely barks, the other, a small dog, which we are training having rescued her from the dogs home. Finally, these are the first group who have stayed at our villa and complained. We have many people who happily come back year after year and the guests staying, as we write, are back for the third time this year. Jean & Percy Chattey.
