Cottage | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 4
If you want the perfect quintessential Cotswold Cottage then Cleeveley cottage is the one ! The Cottage dates back to the 16th Century and is an excellent example of an owner taking time and care to create a stunning cottage where considerable thought has gone into every detail.
Internally the house has many period features including a Tudor stone fireplace with woodburning stove, mullion windows and flagstone floors all of which create a real sense of character. Externally the cottage enjoys a quiet location down a no-through lane in the village, with an enclosed cottage garden to its rear.
The hamlet of Holwell is a few miles from Burford one of the Cotswolds' finest destinations. The village is accessed down a beautiful single track lane, which simply took our breath away when we inspected the cottage. We fell in love with this cottage and are quite sure you will too!

The Dorset region
The Cotswolds are one of the most ‘quintessential English’ regions in the UK.
It is officially designated as the country’s largest ‘areas of outstanding natural beauty’. Famous for its hillsides, river valley’s and Cotswold Stone Villages, the Cotswolds hold a wealth of history, stunning scenery, fine dining and many varieties of activities for all age levels.
Holwell is a little village located approximately 3 miles from Burford. It is sits amidst rolling and partially wooded countryside, and is ideal for either simply relaxing or for touring the many attractions of the Cotswolds. Of particular interest and very close, is the Cotswold Wildlife Park which is literally at the end of the road! Although there is a wide variety of animals, there are also lovely gardens for you to enjoy. Slightly further afield are the popular Cotsold locations of Bourton on the Water, Stow on the Wold and Cirecncester. For a day trip why not consider Oxford or Cheltenham, Stratford Upon Avon or Bath all of which are within a reasonable drive.

"Cosy cottage stay"
This is a lovely cottage with a really authentic feel. Mind the low ceilings but that's part of the charm. My son loved the stairs and all the cottage-y bits and we had a relaxing time here. So q… More

"A fabulous hideaway"
This is a beautiful cottage. Beautifully furnished, very comfortable a real home from home. The bathroom is huge, much bigger than you can see from the photos - a real pleasure to use. With a great full size shower. The bedroom is restful with a comy bed and absolute peace and quiet at night. Toiletries were also provided. A real bonus.
The Kitchen has everything you need. All spotless on arrival, a washer/dryer. Dishwasher, fridge, freezer. Because we had a 3 night break from the 29th December we were unable to use the garden because of the weather.
But the wood burning stove was a delight to relax by. If you want a real retreat from the world this is it, peaceful and quiet. We went to the pub at Shilton -The Rose andCrown which is about a 3 minute drive and had a wonderful meal there. We would highly recommend it.
