Further details indoors:
Enter Painted Lady amidships down oak steps into the main salon, galley and dining area. A pine dresser top and Belfast sink over looking the lake actually makes doing the washing up a pleasure whilst watching the birdlife busy itself on the lake. The cabins lie fore and aft and both have their own decks on which to enjoy a quite cup of coffee in privacy.
The wood burning stove in the salon allows the out of season visitor to enjoy the boat as the evenings draw in. The lake is stocked with Rainbow Trout and provides the fisherman a perfect and peaceful location in which to enjoy his hobby.
Further details outdoors:
Blagdon Water is a 35acre site with 15acres of newly planted woodland. As you drive through the young trees the lake appears at the far end of the site. Painted Lady has her own exclusive 3acres with barbecue and picnic area.
The remaining 30 acres are yours to roam as you wish alongside the deer, rabbits, hare, foxes, buzzards, kestrels, barn owls, woodpeckers and numerous water-birds. Blagdon Water is proud to be an energy efficient and environmental project using solar power.
Further details
Due to the nature of Blagdon Water and the fact that Painted Lady is solar powered, we cannot provide most everyday electrical appliances. However the galley is very well equipped and provides all you need for a comfortable break. A generator is available for the use of irons, hair-dryers etc. A 12volt charger is available for charging mobile phones.
Although we welcome children of all ages, parents must be aware of the nature of the holiday and the obvious proximity to deep water. Life jackets are available.
Conditions
Our policy with regards to pets is quite open. Our main concerns are that the dog will not get into the lake thereby upsetting the breeding and nesting birds or the fishing for other visitors. Dogs permitted tend to be either very small or elderly.
Spaniels and Labradors are sadly not compatible with the environment.
Please consult the owner before bringing your pet. A strict rule applies with regards to one dog per boat only.
