About the home

The Barn at Holmfirth is a 3 bedroom, 2 Bathroom, detached barn over 100 years old.

The upstairs has 3 bedrooms, the twin bedroom having commanding views down the Holme Valley, it really is a stunning view, the Master bedroom is fitted with an en-suite bathroom, finally the upstairs is completed by a luxury family bathroom, with power shower and a luxurious double ended bath with sky light above for the romantics who enjoy star gazing whilst bathing.

Downstairs is a very large and open plan living / dining area, laid with oak flooring throughout. Flat screen TV with built in digital freeview, DVD player, CD Micro hi-fi . This leads into a very well equipped kitchen that includes, Dishwasher, Double oven range, microwave, washer/dryer, fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle and a huge range of cutlery and crockery and glassware, giving you a total home form home feel.

We also provide a huge range of board games, such family favourites like Monopoly, Cluedo, Snakes N Ladders, Trivial Pursuit, UNO, and many more. Also a selection of books and magazines are provided, including " Yorkshire Life" magazine.

The Barn at Holmfirth is ideally situated for walkers to explore the Holme valley and the beautiful peak district. Many walks start just outside the door of the barn. The property is located 1 mile form the village centre of Holmfirth and its famous attractions such as "Sid's cafe" and "Nora's house" and the very quaint "Last of the summer wine museum".

Within a minutes walk from The Barn you will find the local pub, grocery store and farm serving the freshest free range eggs.

ALL linen, towels , heating are provided, and tea,coffee,suagr, milk. Just bring your suitcase, un-pack, and un-wind and enjoy your new surroundings. Coffee,tea,sugar etc are included so a nice hot drink is available upon arrival.

Holmfirth is surrounded by the breathtaking scenery of the Holme Vallye and the Peak District National Park, and is traversed by the Pennine Cycleway, making it an ideal area for walking, cycling, touring and exploring.

The Barn is situated in ideal walking country, and we do provide a large collection of maps, including local OS maps to help you create a walk to match your ability. We also provide walking poles, just in case you forget yours !

The Holmfirth area

Holmfirth is the filim location for the long running BBC TV series " Last of the summer wine" in the summer you will be able to watch the show being filmed in many location in Holmfirth village, and also the surrounding countryside. There are around 14 restaurants to choose from in the village alone, with many more in the local surrounds of the hills and other villages. It really is a gastro delight.

Having been the very first visitors to this property, we felt very lucky and very spoiled. It was in showroom condition and our stay has given us ideas for our own home, but we wont be able to buy the views from the front door, unless MFI decide to sell views?
