Church View built towards the end of 2013 in the centre of Holmfirth, famous for 'Last of the Summer Wine', yet in recent years has become popular for the wealth of culture it offers in the form of numerous festivals which are held in the village through out the year such as the Art festival and the Festival of Folk. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, the village has many restaurants and bars on offer and individual shops, plus the weekly farmers market. Church View is situated one minutes walk from the village centre, yet peacefully tucked away in an elevated position overlooking Victoria Park to the front and of course, the church to the side elevation.
I have lovingly created the perfect holiday accommodation, with a real home from home feel yet with a luxury that you rarely get in holiday homes.
Offered over 2 floors with the living accommodation on the first floor to make the most of the views, the property briefly comprises, a spacious triple aspect lounge with 'Juilet style' balcony looking down into the village, a stunning dining kitchen a WC and to the ground floor a double bedroom with king size bed and a generous twin room, plus a stylish family bathroom.
Externally the property has a delightful garden with a picnic bench and a private car park offering space for 2 cars.

"This will be a hard act to follow, might have to come back!"
The property was a very recent build and there were no signs of wear and tear. Being a new build the stairs and rails were to modern standards, unlike many of the more traditional Yorkshire stone cottages with steep/narrow steps. This was good because one of our party had mobility issues and she managed just fine. It was equipped to a high standard with all the modern equipment one could expect including a decent broadband connection which could handle skype/video easily. Tastefully decorated throughout. Beds and bedding were very comfortable, the double was very soft and luxurious, the sort of bed you can just curl up into, though perhaps not ideal if you have back issues and need a firmer sleep. Fortunately I had not done my back in for a while :-) Upon arrival the owner had kindly left a welcome pack of milk, bread, butter, tea, coffee and home made cake. Local attractions and amenities close by, Co-op only ten mins walk away. Stunning views of Victoria Park and Church out of windows, it has obviously been designed with care to take advantage of its prime location. At time of writing this, Google maps and Streetview were not up to date with the location (look for the shed with the green door as you go up Rotcher Rd.) Locals were friendly and helpful. My daughter was pleasantly surprised to find a range of gluten free options in many of the local eateries!

"Excellent accommodation in an ideal location."
We all relaxed the moment we stepped through the door so we were able to make the most of our weekend stay. We arrived in the evening, tired and bothered, after a difficult journey but that was soon forgotten when we were greeted by a warm, cosy home and a welcoming selection of goodies! The property was of a very high standard throughout and the owner had thought of everything to ensure a perfect break. Although conveniently situated near the centre of Holmfirth the property has an elevated position and enjoys a lovely open aspect.

"Home From Home"
We can only repeat what other reviewers have said. This is a lovely place to spend a holiday. We appreciated the "home from home" touches, particularly the "Welcome Pack" (marmalade, craft baked bread, local butter, milk, sugar, delicious lemon cake, posh ground coffee...).It was immaculately clean on our arrival. It is the best equipped self catering cottage we've been to, having a freezer, dish washer, washing machine, microwave, etc, also a beautiful modern bathroom, a picnic table in the garden, and a "Juliet" balcony with a view over Holmfirth. It even has champagne glasses! Highly recommended!

"Home away from home."
My partner and I stayed at Churchview for 3 weeks on our first arrival of moving to England from Paris. Catherine was incredibly kind and had us a delicious orange cake for our arrival and also provided us with fresh bread and home made jam. The house was very warm and cozy with everything provided. All we needed was to drop our bags and settle in. It really did feel like a home away from home. The location is the best it could get, being just a stones throw away from all the shops and restaurants. Yet despite it's convenience, the house itself is very quiet and peaceful. Thank you Catherine, we had a wonderful stay here and would highly recommend it to all. P.S. A special mention to the wonderful mirror downstairs. It somehow made me look like I was 2 sizes smaller. Where can I buy the same??

"A REAL TREAT, An Amazing Home From Home !"
We wanted to be close to the centre of Holmfirth to attend a friends birthday party at The Vineyard; Church View couldn't be more central as a base. Just a couple of minutes walk and you are in the centre of Holmfirth with lots of great, local amenities and a short taxi ride away from The Vineyard. The property is an 'upside down' house with living accommodation on the upper level which makes the most of the wonderful views and ample parking adjacent to the property. The property seemed to be a fairly new build and is finished to an exceptionally high standard providing beautiful spacious accommodation with every amenity you would expect in a 'home from home', and lots of personal touches that made the interior feel very special. The host was exceptionally helpful at the time of booking and was kind enough to leave a wonderful cake in the property for our arrival; fabulous ! What more could you ask for !

Immaculately decorated throughout, the house feels like a home from home. lovely details and little touches to make you feel welcome, like the fresh bread and homemade cake on the table when we arrived. "The quintessential holiday home"
What can I say about Church View? Such a lovely house, beautifully furnished, incredibly comfortable and finished to such a high standard that you never want to leave!! We had wanted a base that would give us the opportunity to visit the area surrounding Holmfirth, as well as easy access into Saddleworth for Whit Friday and to visit friends and family. Church View gave us all that, and more. To have dedicated parking was an incredible bonus, but the proximity of the house to the town meant that we could out and about on foot. Great for an evening out, as there was no need to worry about driving home! If you're looking for a touch of luxury on your holiday, you need look no further than Church View.

"Perfect stay... When can we come back?!"
The house is gorgeous... Everything brand new and spotlessly clean. The wee extra touches such as the homemade bread, the local marmalade and the cake were brilliant. Definitely would book a stay here again.... Also, the location is great. Two minutes walk from the centre of town. Thanks again catherine. We had a great family weekend.
