About this location
The Derbyshire region
The ultimate in “year-round” appeal, the Peak District offers countryside, picturesque villages and magnificent scenery. It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales.
Situated at the southern end of the Peak District National Park, the picturesque village of Hollington has lovely brick built cottages, farmhouses, barn conversions, shops and traditional pubs, whilst being surrounded by stunning countryside. Just six miles away is the market town of Ashbourne. The town boats narrow, cobbled alleys, Georgian buildings, lovely pubs and restaurants, and is renowned for its antique shops. Walkers and cyclists should head to the Dove and Manifold Valleys, and with Bakewell, Matlock, Alton Towers, fishing and golf all nearby, there is something for everyone within this part of the Peak District.

"Delightful, cosy cottage."
Ivy Cottage is a wonderful, cosy, comfortable cottage set in the small village of Hollington. Every little detail and creature comforts are provided for by the owners and the added little extras found on arrival are very welcoming. Well worth a stay as it is very peaceful with views over fields. The secure garden for our dog was also very helpful. Exploring the surrounding countryside was fantastic and the cottage is an ideal base for the peak district and surrounding area. The Saracens Head Gastro Pub in the neighbouring village of Shirley served outstanding food with a very friendly service.
We would thoroughly recommend Ivy Cottage to anyone.
