Located on 1.7 acres, this charming home consists of 8 bedroom suites: 3 bedrooms in the main house, 2 in the adjoining annex (a 'bridge' spans the natural water course that bisects the property) and 3 others in cottages on the grounds. The property also features a lovely Swimming pool, a secluded swimming beach cove cable TV, Fax machine, stereo system and a Home Theatre.
First constructed in the 1940s, Crystal Springs was redesigned by Oliver Messel in the 1960s and the current owners have faithfully maintained the characteristically theatrical ambiance. Guests are looked after by a full staff, supervised by a villa manager, including a butler, cook, maids, laundress, night watchman and boatman.
Full rate rentals include the use of a 18 ft speed boat equipped for waterskiing, a separate home theatre and a mini-gym. A 30ft Boston Whaler is available at an additional cost for cruising and deep sea fishing. Rates on request. The St James Parish region
The parish of Saint James ("St. James") is an area located in the western part of the country of Barbados. Increasingly St. James is being known as the playground of the rich and famous, and haven for sun-starved tourists.
In local colloquium, St. James was known as the "Gold Coast", but due to ongoing popularity it is now referred to as the "Platinum Coast", reflective of the parishes many glitzy beach-front mansions, pristine beaches, luxury hotels. Many Barbadians say within the Platinum Coast there are as many as, 18 global billionaires own property somewhere within a 6-mile stretch of beach on the island.
Holetown area
Holetown is only a few minutes away which offers beautiful beach front restaurants, great shopping and bars. You try Limegrove which will be open Mid 2009 and is a new exclusive shopping complex with bars, restaurants and shops. Further south is Bridgetown where you catch a boat and sail down the west coast to visit the turtles. The unspoilt East Coast should not be missed with its rugged coastline and pristine beaches.
