Perfect for relaxing whether you want watersports, snorkelling over coral reefs or simply lying on the golden sands with a good book and contemplating a rum punch or Banks beer - always a tough decision!

If you want to chill in the shade they are fringed with Coconut Palms & Casuarina trees. Water skiing and other aqua sports are available on the beach - or you can book ahead at Sandpiper's kiosk.
As well as Discovery Bay beach on the doorstep Settlers beach is only 100 yards away. Just beyond that Folkestone Marine Centre offers snorkelling over its reef, shaded picnic tables, tennis courts and a popular playground for younger children. Other activities on hand include: waterskiing, diving, glass bottom boats, jet skis.
Holetown, 500 yards away is where the first British settlers arrived. It is the focal point of the Barbados West Coast with Sandy Lane to the South and bustling, colourful Speightstown 5 miles to the North. Bridgetown is 9 miles to the South.
An excellent local bus service runs up the West Coast linking Holetown with Speightstown, Bridgetown and the South and East Coasts of Barbados. Buses run every few minutes and cost less than 20 pence.
