This privately owned spacious one bedroom apartment is recommended for a romantic getaway and sightseeing. It's near the ocean and close to the village. Set in 5 acres of beautiful tropical gardens and there is a 25m swimming pool with sun loungers, umbrellas and a poolside bar and restaurant.
The accommodation is spacious (approx 750 sq.ft.), comfortably furnished and comprises a lounge with dining area and separate fully equipped kitchen. Personally furnished for comfort. It has air conditioning, but we have found the position on the top floor and the clever design of the building means that at night a flow of cool air is available without mechanical assistance.
Breakfasts on the balcony are a wonderful start to the day and watching the sun go down over the sea is a memorable event.
The swimming pool is ideal, the convenience of a small bar/restaurant alongside is a bonus. Shops are within a few minutes walk and access to fine stretches of beach will add just two more minutes.

The Saint James Parish region
Barbados is the most popular of the Caribbean Islands, and enjoys a year round climate, with daytime temperatures of 27°C to 31°C. Night temperatures hardly vary, with the lowest winter temperatures of 23°C to 25°C.
This small island is packed like a jewel box; take a trip to the East Coast for fabulous rugged scenery on the Atlantic Ocean, visit Harrison's Cave or Sugar Plantation Great Houses. Explore the Flower Forest and Orchid World. There is always something to do in Barbados, which enables you to enjoy the type of holiday to suit your individual taste.
Daytime pursuits can be a leisurely stroll along the fabulous white sand beaches or, for the more energetic, tennis, golf, horse riding and all water sports (scuba diving in the Caribbean is like a huge tropical fish tank), water skiing, para-sailing, deep sea fishing for barracuda, kingfish or the famous Barbadian Flying Fish.
Our West Coast waters are clean, clear and warm - ideal for swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, and wind surfing. For those less willing to try diving, you can still discover the amazing underwater experience by taking a trip with Atlantis Submarines - http://www.atlantisadventures.com/caribbean.cfm. Or you may just prefer to relax on the beach, enjoying the sun, sand and sights!
Situated in the unique and prestigious Parish of St James on the South West Coast of Barbados,
the local area boasts fabulous beaches washed by the Caribbean Sea and frequented by the rich and famous (there are no private beaches on Barbados), yet these are only five minutes walk from our apartment.
The apartment is situated ten minutes away from Sandy lane golf course, and there are several prestigious hotels along this golden west coast, such as Sandy Lane, Treasure Beach, Tamarind Cove, Discovery Bay, Sandpiper, Colony Club and Coral Reef Club, all of which offer nightly entertainment and welcome visitors for either drinks, a restaurant meal or BBQ accompanied by a flaming limbo floorshow.
Within easy walking distance are 20 restaurants catering to every taste, from fast food to fine dining. Two shopping malls are also located nearby, with convenient banks, a supermarket, post office, pharmacy, department stores, and specialty shops. In addition, there are two Malls and a quaint fully operational Chattel House village retailing local fashion, paintings and artefacts. Public transport is regularly available approx 400yds from the apartments.

"Yay! Monkeys in the garden."
My partner and I stayed at Doris and Peter's apartment and found it to be just as advertised. The apartment is a good size and had everything we needed. The apartment is clean and well furnished. Don't bother buying a guide book! I did and found the information in the apartment to be far better then the guidebook - thanks Doris and Peter!! The complex is peaceful and is 10 minutes walk to the beach and that's 10 minutes slowly in the baking sun! There are fantastic sea views from the balcony and beautiful sunsets. There are laundry facilities for a couple of pounds a wash. The supermarket is a wee bit closer than the beach and we found many lovely restaurants nearby. We didn't have a single poor meal whilst we were there and the Chinese restaurant in the complex is very cheap and decent food which was a godsend as we arrived about 8pm and it's open until 10. I was excited about seeing the monkeys as I'd read other reviews and I was not disappointed. There is a tree about 100m from the apartment directly across from the balcony and I saw the monkeys on my first morning and every other day I was there. There is an abundance of birds in the garden including hummingbirds, masses of them feed from the pink flowered tree just under and to the right of the balcony. We explored a fair bit and visited many beaches all of which were just as gorgeous as the last. Many of the beaches have bars or restaurants on them where you'll get a beer for a couple of pounds and a rum punch for 2 or 3. You can swim with the turtles at a couple of beaches without getting a boat trip (Paynes bay and the beach with the Lone Star restaurant on it). I can also highly recommend Ragamuffins where the food is fantastic (1st street). Also, the Sitar Indian (2nd Street) is excellent, not just your average Indian, really great quality food and interesting starters. 1st Street is jumping on a Sunday night, full of locals and tourists singing and dancing in the street, it's a great atmosphere. The only issue I had with Barbados was the amount of speed boats and jet skis going too close to the swimmers. I found out on my last day that there are some out of bounds areas for them, so check with the lifeguards on the beach if you want to go snorkeling. When I go back to Barbados, this apartment is where I will want to stay again. Thanks Doris and Peter.

"Great place to stay"
The apartment was in an ideal place, not right in the centre of Holetown but just a short walk away. We hired a car and Holetown was the nicest place out of all the places we visited. The Chinese restaurant on sight was very good and handy. All the beaches were lovely. The best restaurant we went to was the Beach House, lovely setting and beautiful food. The apartment had everything we needed and I would definitely go back again.

"Very close to beach, shops and nightlife but far enough away for peace and quiet as well"
My wife and I stayed at this apartment in December for 16 nights. The location is superb, the apartment is clean and tidy, and it is unusual for an apartment to have such a large pool. The pool side bar and restaurant was an added bonus for the nights that we did not want to go out to eat. The apartments do have quite a number of owners and long term residents but this makes for a very peacefull atmosphere. When we wanted to go out Holetown was only a few minutes walk, but when we wanted to stay in and enjoy the lovely view from the balcony it was not spoilt by too much noise. We would definitely stay at this apartment again and have recommended it to friends
