Cottage | 3 bedrooms | sleeps 6
Baytree is a beautiful 18th century stone and cob cottage at the heart of the picturesque village of Holbeton. A charming, unspoilt and picturesque village, often a film location (International Velvet, Sense & Sensibility, Rebecca etc.) Holbeton is a delightful mix of small thatched and slate cottages – two lovely pubs, village post office/stores (fresh croissants every day) and church – quietly set ¾ mile from the River Erme's beautiful wooded estuary and less than two miles from Mothecombe's excellent sandy beach.
Baytree has a delightful beamed living room with wood burner, comfortable seating and LCD Freeview TV with DVD. For the 2014 season Baytree will feature a brand new, luxury, bespoke kitchen with Falcon professional range cooker, integrated Bosch appliances and dining table to seat 6. The cottage has full unlimited broadband and wifi with good access and bandwidth. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms with 4ft 6in beds and a twin room with 2ft 6in beds and TV for videos only. The refurbished bathroom has Villeroy and Boch suite, Hansgrohe power shower over bath, basin and WC.
Outside, the securely enclosed lawned garden with picnic table, offers lovely views over the village and surrounding countryside. There is an outside power shower on the back of the cottage, perfect for cooling off in the summer and rinsing sandy children, back from the beach.

About this location
The Devon region
The area surrounding Holbeton is known as the South Hams. It covers some 340 square miles of England's most beautiful coast and countryside scenery. The southerly location and warm Gulf Stream air ensure one of the mildest climates in the whole of Britain.
The South Hams area contains the historic towns of Totnes, Dartmouth, Kingsbridge, Salcombe, and Modbury. The whole area is designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty and enjoys some of the country's most beautiful and unspoilt coastline stretches.
The National Trust owns many acres of coastline, woodland, farmland and other interesting conservation areas. The South Western Coast path runs throughout the South Hams and offers some of the finest coastal walking in the world.
Holbeton lies less than a mile from the beautiful wooded estuary of the river Erme. The estuary, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, meanders its way through the heart of the privately owned 5,000 acre Flete Estate to join the sea at Mothecombe Bay. The countryside is stunning with broadleaf woodlands, rolling pastures, little hamlets, cliff paths and beaches.
The popular sailing venues of Noss Mayo and Newton Ferrers are about 4 miles away.
The Coastal Footpath is about 1½ miles to the South.
There are more fine beaches and golf courses at Thurlestone, Bigbury, Bantham and Burgh Island, about 7 miles from the cottages.
The open spaces of the Dartmoor National Park are 8 miles to the North.
Shops: There is an excellent village stores/post office within 75 yards. Other shops at Yealmpton, 2 miles, Modbury, 3 miles and a larger Tesco, at Lee Mill, about 4 miles
