About the home

Located just outside the village of Hockwold cun Wilton, Willow Holt is in a secluded location, yet within an hour's drive of Norwich, Bury St Edmunds, Cambridge and little over an hour to many of the North Norfolk coastal resorts.
The cottage includes 2 bedrooms and an open-plan living area, and is ideal for families.

The local area includes the beautiful Thetford Forest, with many options for walkers and cyclists, and several important bird-watching reserves are also a short drive away.

-Downstairs area is open plan, with kitchen, dining room and lounge.
-Upstairs has a bathroom with bath and shower over; twin room; kingsize room.
-All rooms have been decorated to feel modern, and home from home.
-Books and games are provided.
-The property adjoins the Owner's property, and provisions can be made to use the owner's washing machine if neccesary.

Outdoor seating area to the rear of the property, with a table and seating for 6 and barbecue, and a low fence around to safeguard children or dogs.
Gate to reach the garden shared with the owner.
Off street parking is provided to the side of the property.

One well behaved dog accepted, but not to be allowed upstairs.
10% deposit to be made to secure booking, the remainder to be paid 4 weeks before holiday starts.

The East Anglia / Norfolk region

Hockwold is in the heart of The Brecks, a landscape of tranquil forest, open heathland and agricultural land, where human inhabitation can be traced back to Neolithic man at the flint mines of Grimes Graves.

The nearby Thetford Forest is the largest lowland pine forest in Britain, and has miles of marked walking and cycling routes.

The shopping towns of Kings Lynn and Bury St Edmunds are about 40 minutes drive away, and include many boutique style shops along with familiar High Street names. Norwich and Cambridge are both an hour away, and provide great shopping facilities as well as historical landmarks.

The closest beach is 45 minutes away, and most of the North Norfolk resorts are little more than an hour away/

Local activities:
Walking and cycling in Thetford Forest, with marked walking and cycling trails, children's play areas, cafe, toilets and small shops with maps etc available to buy. High Lodge has bike hire and the Go Ape assault course.

Bird watching - Lakenheath Fen, with a visitors centre is only a copule of miles away. A wetland that is home to marsh harriers, hobbies, bearded tits, reed and sedge warblers nest, as well as breeding golden orioles.
Weeting Heath is one of the best places to see stone curlews, open from April to September.
Welney Wildfowl and Wetland Trust. Year round activities, including dawn viewing of thousands of migrating swans in winter. Also an hour away from several reserves on the North Norfolk Coast.

Shopping and regional towns - Bury St. Edmunds, Norwich, Kings Lynn and Cambridge are all within an hours drive, while many of the resorts on the North Norfolk coast are little over an hour away.
