About the home

Turtle Villa is our first holiday home abroad, and we hope you will enjoy your stay in our modern, high spec, fully equipped accommodation sleeping up to 8 people (see full details in Facilities section below). The Villa is idyllicly situated overlooking the Babadag Mountain with spacious verrandas and outside seating areas to dine al fresco or just relax whilst taking in the view. It also benefits from a superb Olympic sized swimming pool and peaceful location. Although the hustle and bustle of the nearby resort of Hisaronu is a 15 -20 minute walk away, and the wonderful beaches and lagoon of Olu Deniz are just 10 minutes by Dolmus

All guests staying at the villa are welcome to use all the facilities and amenities at the 4* Orka Hotel, which is only a short stroll up the road. These include, a Turkish Bath which is around £10 for a wonderful exfoliating scrub followed by soft bubbles to wash away the stress and finally a sulphur mud face pack to rejuvenate the skin. I can highly recommend this treatment, I was wonderfully relaxed after, as well as preparing my skin for a fantastic tan. There is also a free Children’s Club run by a professional and enthusiastic team should you wish to have a break during the day time.

There is also the option to have a half board basis at the Orka Hotel whilst staying at the villa, which includes buffet style breakfast and a 3 course evening meal with a wide choice of dishes to suit all. The cost of this is around 50 TL (£20) per head per day for adults (2011 prices), children 7-12 years half price and children 0-6 years eat free, which is excellent value for money and superb quality food if you are working to budget. You can book this locally on arrival at reception just ask for Hussan or Soner who will be glad to help you..

This is Fantastic Villa and has just completed its second season with many customers booking again for 2011, it offers luxury 5* accommodation for up to 8 guests. It has a light and airy open plan living area with large Veranda overlooking the beautiful Olympic sized swimming pool, there are two luxury sun loungers on the main balcony, a table and two chairs on second balcony and a large glass topped table with six chairs for the patio. It also offers a good sized children’s pool to keep the little ones happy.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all mod cons (dishwasher, cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave etc, ) and a spacious dining area. The living room comprises a bed settee for a further 2 guests with a downstairs wc and shower room off the hallway. The flooring throughout is a cooling marble but should you need it all bedrooms are fully air conditioned as is the main living area . There is also a washing machine under the stairs and it's great for those not wanting to do it when they get home, just pop them in, wash and the sun takes care of the rest !!!

Moving up the marble staircase there are 3 bedrooms and one main bathroom, the master bedroom has an en-suite with shower and is again a spacious room with double bed. It has a stunning aspect view of Babadag Mountain from the window and its balcony, during the winter months these Mountain peaks are capped with snow but you are all probably fed up with the snow now!

The 2nd and 3rd bedrooms are both twins and all bedrooms have built in wardrobes. The 2nd bedroom also has a balcony with lovely views down the valley towards Olu Deniz.

The Mountain View complex is maitained to a very high standard and provides a safe and carefree environment for your family holiday. The site has 24 hour security.

Use the covered terrace as an ideal place to dine, barbecue and relax.

There are also grassed areas surrounding the villa where the children can play

There is also a safe in the master bedroom wardrobe to place all your valuables during your stay.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

If this is your first time to Turkey it won’t be your last, not only is there an abundance of sunshine but a warm welcome at every corner you turn from the locals.

This area of Turkey is famous for its Blue Lagoon at Olu Deniz, most photographs promoting Turkey include a picture of this area, where if you are lucky as my family were on our last visit you can snorkel in the crystal blue waters marvelling at the splendour of a mother Loggerhead turtle swimming with its infant, it’s an image I will never forget neither will my family.

The villa is situated a short distance from here up the hill at Ovacik, which is about 1000m above sea level and benefits from a cool breeze and around a 7°C degree drop in temperature from the beach. It takes about 10 minutes on the Dolmus or you can call ‘Billy’s Beach’ who have a bar on the lagoon and they will pick you up and drop you back free of charge, if you buy a few drinks or eat at the bar !!. NEWS UPADATE: Orka Hotel have opened their own beach on the lagoon for this season and offer a FREE minibus service from Mountain view each morning around 10am and returning around 4pm!!!!!!!

The backdrop to this picturesque scene is the impressive Babadag Mountain soaring to a height at its peak of 1969m and is rich in flora and beautiful Acer trees so great for the walkers amongst you. The mountain is used throughout the year by Para gliders from around the world for its great thermals and fantastic views and if you’re not an expert to can experience this with an expert on a tandem flight for around £50 incl insurance.

There are many water sports in the area from hiring speedboats to diving with PADI qualified instructors.

For the evenings you can visit Hisaronu where there’s every type of Restaurant you can think of and nightclubs to dance the night away if you so wish, there are many shops selling local items and a fun fair for the kids.

Fethiye is a beautiful Harbour town and is about 20 minutes from the Villa and is the hub for most boat trips, we did the 12 Island Tour on our last stay and cost £30 for a family of 5, this included lunch and lasted all day, again fantastic for the snorkelers out there. You can also visit the large market here every Tuesday and haggle to your hearts content.

Another place to visit is Kayokoy Village (Ghost Village) about 4 miles from the villa and costs about 6 Turkish lira for 5 of us (£3) on the Dolmus, this was originally home to around 2000 Greeks and after the War of Independence in 1922 there was an exchange of populations and the Greeks moved out but the homes where left to decay. There are some very rustic restaurants in the village and a great place to chill out in the midday sun and sample a Turkish Tea and a pancake for a couple of pounds.

The Hisaronu / Ovacik area

Hisaronu is a busy town about a fifteen minute walk down the hill from the villa, it has many shops, supermarkets, restaurants, bars, hairdressers and for the gents out there that haven’t had a Turkish Shave try one, you will do it more than once its great £2 !!. Over the past couple of years more hotels and villas have been built but local government insures no building goes over 2 storeys and our villa sits on the edge of the green belt so nothing will be built in the future to spoil these views.

Ovacik where the villa is located has many restaurants close by and many bars to choose from these are more relaxing than the busy Hisaronu ones to try are the 'Rockpool' (New 2010)and ‘Fryer Tuck’ bar great food, a free pool table, Sony Play Station and Internet access for the kids to keep them happy.

Just across and up the the road from the Fryer Tuck is a small Aqua Park with about a dozen slides. Nearby to the villa there are several shops to buy food should you wish to self cater in the well equipped kitchen.

The road from the villa to Ovacik or Hisaronu can be dark in places in the evening and road a little uneven, we do provide a torch in the villa but you might like to bring along a back up one, we generally walk out and taxi back !!

“In my top5 of best ever holidays. Highly recommended” We just spent a week at 11 Mountain View with our two daughters (4 & 2). As per my title we all agreed the week was up there in our top5 best ever holidays Why? - Spacious, modern and well equipped villa. Possibly nicer than your house! - Part of a little complex of 16 villas so you get nice social interaction (and other kids to play with) but it is still small and quiet - A wonderful pool, 25m so my wife and I did banged out a mile each every day - A hotel type service from the associated hotel (maid, service man for problems,etc). This has not been our experience with other villa rentals - Good location for beaches, restaurants, etc. We've hired villas in many European countries and this has been by far the highest quality and best value price (please don't put the price up!) Finally, the booking service was smooth through Steve and Ange and they were highly responsive to our many pre-trip questions. We got back from Turkey last night. We had a terrific holiday, in part due to the great villa and facilities. Thanks for your help. We are actually considering a return visit either later in the year or the same time next year. The villa, complex, and the Orka set-up is really very good indeed (and we are fairly critical). My ‘high-maintenance’ questions were due to the fact you normally have to double check everything but we were very pleasantly surprised at the helpfulness and professionalism of the Orka staff. I needn’t have fussed so much. You have a lovely villa.
