About the home

The maisonette accommodates four to five persons. The bedrooms and living room are all air conditioned.
The first floor bedrooms have balconies with sunset views.The bathroom is easily accessible off the landing .The ground floor open living/dining room is fully furnished with a satellite TV ,sofa bed and a safe deposit box. The shaded terrace with garden furniture has a built-in BBQ. Off the stair lobby is another WC with a shower. The fully equipped kitchen includes hob /oven /fridge /freezer /toaster and a washing machine.
A super ,clean and modern apartment ...a perfect base for your Turkish holiday.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

Turkey is usually very warm and sunny, so the cooling breezes are most welcome at the apartment's location on the mountain slope (1000 ft above sea level) ,away from the famous hot beach and lagoon of Olu Deniz. This beach is probably one of the most photographed places in the Mediterranean. A protected natural lagoon with tree lined hills and a shallow spit of white pebbly sand gently shelving into the warm turquoise blue sea. Plenty of ancient history to explore,the setting for Lois Bernieres best seller 'Birds without Wings' set in the Greek ghost town of Kayakoy nearby. Take the road to Kayakoy ,from Hisaronu, and after visiting the ghost village, take lunch at a Kebab restaurant, or continue to the pine tree beach at Gemiler.

The Hisaronu / Ovacik area

The apartment is only a few minutes walk from the lively restaurant and shopping resort of Hisaronu which particularly comes to life after dark with its bars,and small shops selling Turkish carpets,gold,leather goods and casual designer clothing at bargain prices! Ovacik has a market on Monday but Tuesday is the large market day, in Fethiye town with its harbour frontage. Fethiye was once the ancient Lycian town of Telmessos and there are fine rock cut tombs to explore. Plenty of things to do between sun bathing!
Visit Patara ,the white sand beach and the Saklikent gorge , an hour by car, or the Butterfly Valley and Twelve Islands ,accessible by boat, the river town of Dalyan with its rock tombs and mud baths,or the yachting centre of Gocek.

Fly to Dalaman airport in South West Turkey, then 50 mins by car to the apartment. Package holiday flight only deals from many UK airports. eg flythomascook, a1travel.com. Alternatively book scheduled flights to Dalaman with Easyjet, holidays4U ,or Turkish Airlines(THY), British Airways via Istanbul.
Transfers can be arranged from the airport from £35 ,or I have names of local car rental companies .
