The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
Hisaronu is situated at the top of a mountain plateau. 8km down one side is the beautiful bay of Oludeniz, 15km the other way is the commercial town of Fethyie. Originally known as Telemessos the area has a huge wealth of ancient history. Kaya Koy, the ghost town is a short journey away, other local places of interest are Saklikent Gorge, Zanthos, Tlos, and abit further afield the spendour of Ephesus and Pamukkale.
Hisaronu area
Hisaronu is a lively tourist town, 10 years ago it was a sleepy one street village. It now boasts a huge selection of restaurants and bars, featuring both traditional Turkish and international cuisine, to suit all tastes and pockets . The beach at Oludeniz boast the much photographed Blue Lagoon, you can lie back in the water looking at the mountains and watch the paragliders land on the beach. Local culture is all around, Kaya koy, the deserted ghost village just up the road, ruins from the Lycian federation at Fethyie, Kekova, Xanthos and Patara not far away. Further details indoors: The main bedroom has a Cherrywood kingsize bed, wardrobe and shelf space, it overlooks the pool and has mountain views. The 2nd room has twin beds, with one under bed. Again, the furniture is cherrywood. There is ample wardrobe and shelf space, the balcony looks down over the valley and mountains and has deckchairs and table for a quiet read with a coffee. The kitchen is fully fitted with oven and hob, large fridge freezer and washing machine. Iron and board are available as is hairdryer. The kitchen and sitting room are integral, the dining table is al fresco on the balcony overlooking the pool area.
Further details outdoors: The complex was competed in 2004 and is a beautiful site. Well maintained with two generous sized pools and two baby splash pools. It backs on to forestry commission pine forests and to the front overlooks the stunning Taurus mountain range. There's plenty of local wildlife, that includes tortoises, chickens, and the odd goat. The terraced gardens are planted with flowering shrubs. Each pool has plenty of sun loungers and brollies.
