The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

Hisaronu was originally a small farming village; it is now a hive of activity during the summer months and home to many shops, hotels, villas, bars and restaurants.

Hisaronu is overlooked by mountains and pine forest allowing for a refreshing cool breeze during the long hot summer months and this area has proved popular with investors as the tourism trade is rife and rental potential fantastic.

Ovacik is the neighbouring village to the very lively tourist resort of Hisaronu. There are a few bars & restaurants scattered around the village offering a mixed choice of dishes to suit all tastes and budgets.

The transport links are excellent with regular dolmus (bus) service to the pretty harbour town of Fethiye and trademark beach and lagoon resort of Ölüdeniz only a 5 minute hop away, making it an ideal base for enjoying all the diverse aspects of this captivating area

Hisaronu

The famous beach resort & Blue Lagoon of Ölüdeniz is just 5 minutes by Taxi or Dolmus. Most of the private beaches around the lagoon offer a free beach transfer service for customers staying in Hisarönü. The resort is low rise and spreads back gently up the mountain. There is an abundance of elegant restaurants, hotels and bars. Both the famous Blue Lagoon, popular for its shallow crystal clear waters and Belcekiz Beach can easily be reached by dolmus. Babadag Mountain, the backdrop of Olu Deniz, is a recognised area for paragliding and is deemed to be one of the best flying points in the world for this exciting sport.

Kidrak is another of Fethiyes coastal gems. A large, relatively unspoilt sand and shingle beach located just before you reach the large Likyia Resort Hotel just 5 minutes drive along the mountain road from Oludeniz.

The historic village of Kaya Köyü, known as the Ghost Village can be reached by Taxi or Dolmus in 5 minutes or for those a little more adventurous a leisurely 20 minute stroll along the pine clad roads.

If you carry on another 10 minutes through the winding roads of Kayakoy, through the forest and down the mountain road you eventually come to the pretty cove of Gemile. An unspoilt little sand and shingle beach overlooking the historic St Nicholas Island.

The larger town of Fethiye is just 7km away and can be easily reached by Taxi or the local dolmus service in around 10 minutes. Fethiye has a weekly market every Tuesday & has plenty of shops, bars & restaurants to sample along with a lovely harbour & marina area.

Dalaman airport is just under an hours drive & now provides year round access to UK airports.

Close by to Dalaman is the quaint town of Sarigerme. Here they are building the 1st Golf course in the area. Sarigerme also has a lovely well kept sandy beach and as there is always a breeze there it is great for wind surfing.

Saklikent which is home to the 3rd largest Canyon in the world is an hours drive from Hisarönü. At Saklikent you will find a number of riverside restaurants offering fresh Trout. You can also try your hand at river rafting during the summer months.

Just 50 minutes drive from Hisarönü is one of Turkeys' best beaches, boasting 22km of pure sand. Patara Beach is a national park area so a small entrance fee is payable but well worth it to visit the beach along with viewing the ancient ruins at the entrance to Patara.

The new ski resort of Seki can be reached by Car or dolmus to enjoy the winter skiing in just under 1 ½ hours. This resort is open but undergoing development with ski lifts hoping to be installed by 2008.

Göcek is just 45 minutes away and has a quaint village square and a well established harbour and is a desirable destination for both Turkish and foreign yachtsmen, as well as a favourite stopover for jet-setters and celebrities alike.
