Villa Pembroke provides a luxury holiday, with large high ceiling rooms, a cool interior, marble floors. The villa is elevated above Ovacik village, with easy walking to the frequent minibus (Dolmus), restaurants and shops. The beaches at Olu Deniz or Gemiler are approx 15 mins by bus and there's a similar journey time to the harbour town of Fethiye. The best night life in the area, at Hisaranou, is less than 2 miles away - far enough not to be disturbing. Activities, including paragliding, diving, riding, and numerous ancient historic sites are all easily accessible. Our local English manager arranges transfers and provides a free help line.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

The village of Ovacik is in a valley, dominated by the 6,000ft mountain of Babadag. Olu Deniz has a beautiful beach, is 3 miles away. We've never found the place crowded, even in the height of the season. The facilities, be it the beach, the woods, restaurants, or whatever, are just far larger than the number of people using them. So you walk into any restaurant and there's a table, go for car hire, and one is waiting, decide to go for a day's boat trip (£10 which includes lunch), and you'll find the boat half full.

The mountains are criss-crossed with paths and dirt roads, and make lovely walking. Motor bikes, jeeps and quads can be hired, but again, you won't see many others out.

Hisaronu / Ovacik area

Fethiye is a bustling market town, with a famous bazaar every Tuesday. It's a good place to buy Turkish carpets. The harbour has many boats, and it's easy to hire one for the day to take you to the many islands close by. Fethiye has a Roman amphitheatre, fascinating rock tombs and plenty of history. It's a good centre for most things, with friendly and helpful people. There's a substantial English community, which means you'll find an english speaking doctor, dentist (they're said to be very good), and english spoken in the hospital.

How to get there

Fly to Dalaman - departures from many UK and European airports. We can arrange transfers (1 hr 15m) with local drivers. Or transfer with a hire car from the airport.

Accomododation is on three floors. The ground floor is semi open plan with dining and sitting making a very large area, and the well equipped kitchen adjoining. There's a toilet and shower on the ground floor. The first floor has three bedrooms, one en suite and a large bathroom. Each bedroom has a King size bed, wardrobe, air conditioning, and marble floor. The second floor has two bedrooms, one with a king size bed and single bed, and the other a pair of singles. This floor has it's own spacious bathroom (with shower).
The villa is furnished throughout with hand made Turkish furniture, and the veranda furniture is in 'as new' condition. Paintings, wall hangings and other decoration make the interior say 'private' rather than 'rental' villa.

The garden surrounds the villa on all sides, and provides a choice of sun or shade throughout the day. The pool adjoins the veranda and living room, so you are swimming within few steps of the villa. It has a safe shelving floor, the depth going from 1.2 to 1.8 metres, so safe for non-swimmers. There is a toddler pool adjacent to it. The veranda includes a large built-in barbecue with a full size chimney, making eating in as much a treat as going out!
