The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
South-west Turkey offers the most spectacular holidays in the Mediterranean, scenically beautiful with an astonishingly rich legacy of archeologic ruins and historic sites. In Turkish, Mediterranean is called Akdeniz, or "White Sea." But those familiar with the beautiful beaches especially the Blue Lagoon at Olu Deniz would prefer to call it the Turquoise Coast because the colour of the sea is naturally turquoise.
Both the Aegean and the Mediterranean coasts have a typical Mediterranean climate with mild winters and hot summers with temperatures ranging from 18C to 43C from May to October.
Hisaronu / Ovacik area
The resort villages of Hisaronu and Ovacik nestles between pine clad mountains on a plateau 1000 feet above sea level under Mount Babadag. There is usually a cooling breeze coming up from the sea during the summer months. The people here are very friendly and will make you feel most welcome. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from, ranging from traditional Turkish food which is delicious or if you prefer there is Indian, Chinese or Italian to choose from and even an English breakfast.
During the summer months many well stocked mini markets are dotted throughout this area. There is a local market on Monday where you will find many bargains. There are also fresh vegetables and fruit markets. Hisarano is a main shopping area where you will find ATM's, supermarkets, gift shops and many bars, cafes and gift shops. There is also a Post Office and Medical Centre and chemist.
In the day time there is a good selction of local trips and excursions including local island boat trips, jeep safari, white water rafting, horse riding through the mountains and forest to Kaya Koy (Ghost Village) and for the more adventurous paragliding from Babadag mountain or microlighting. There are watersports available at Olu Deniz including pedalos, parasailing and banana boats. There is also an aquapark a five minute walk from Primrose Villa.
Nightlife can be a quite dinner in one of the many open air restaurants or for those looking for a more lively night clubs and entertainment can be found in Hisaranu.
All the facilities of the four star Orka Hotel which is a five minute walk can be used by our guests which include family entertainment of barbeue nights, Turkish dancing, karaoke etc.
