Culture buffs will be thrilled with the wealth of historical sites in the area and sports enthusiasts can`t go wrong with horse riding, quad biking, microlighting and paragliding on the doorstep! Nightlife is varied too from traditional to lively-the choice is all yours.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

The Turquoise/Lycian Coast in the South West of the country is one of the most beautiful regions of Turkey, it has a Mediterranean climate with hot dry summers and mild winters. The Taurus Mountain Range forms the backdrop to the whole area and has lush pine clad slopes with abundant olive groves. Agriculture forms an important part of life here with tomatoes one of the most important crops. Honey production is also on a large scale.

For a flavour of the rich history of the area visit the small museum in Fethiye (ancient Telmessos) or wander round the Lycian rock tombs and sarcophagi and ruins of the Roman amphitheatre in the town.
The villa is perfectly situated to visit places of interest such as Saklikent Gorge, mud baths and Turtle beach at Dalyan, Ephesus and Pamukkale. The sights of İstanbul are only 1 hours flight away from Dalaman too.

Hisaronu / Ovacik area

Ovacik is a mountain village which has developed over the years into a small resort in its` own right-although it retains a traditional flavour. Try the small `Serdar` restaurant across the road from the villa (also known as the chop shop)-a kilo of lamb cutlets freshly bbq`d in front of you is simply delicious!! The road which passes through here leads down into the livelier resort of Hisaronu and is an interesting walk both during the day and at night. Hisaronu has a more touristy feel than Ovacik and caters for wider tastes in terms of nightlife, shopping and eating (Mexican, Chinese, İndian, English & Turkish!)

Further down the mountain road you find the beach resort of Olu Deniz which is simply breathtaking-the famous Blue Lagoon (the most photographed beach in Turkey) is here. The resort itself is quite compact yet has a good choice of places to eat and drink.

Fethiye is found in the opposite direction from the villa and is a traditional working Turkish town with a Bazaar and weekly Tuesday market (great experience for seeing local colour). The harbour front is a lovely place to watch the sunset over the islands in the bay. Boat trips from here are very popular and good value for money. A climb through the old part of town-Paspatur -will bring you to the Lycian rock tombs carved into the mountain and the view over the bay from here is superb.

Kayakoy (Ghost village) is reached through the pine forest and is a great place to step back in time.
For serious walkers the start of the Lycian Way is approx. 3km from the villa but there are many shorter walks to be done in the surrounding countryside.

Olu Deniz is a mecca for paragliders from around the world and you can watch them take off daily from Babadag mountain (seen from the villa) and land on the beachfront. The İnternational Air Games are held here every October.
Calis is another beach resort adjacent to Fethiye-kitesurfing is the sport here and holds annual National competitions. On June 7th 2008 there will also be a Carnival in this resort.

There are two Aquaparks in the area-one about 5 minutes walk from the villa and the other in Calis-approx.20 minutes away by road.

How to get there

Private transfers from Dalaman airport can be arranged and are the recommended option to get your Turkish holiday off to a smooth start. Example prices £45 for return transfer for 2 people, £65 for 4 people-please enquire for exact price for your party at time of booking.

Taxis are available at the airport and operate on a fixed price tariff, however they are a more expensive alternative.

Car hire is readily available with companies such as Europcar, Atlantic cars etc. Driving instructions to the villa can be provided on request. The car hire companies have offices in Fethiye if you wish to drive locally.
All the major charter airlines fly into Dalaman including Thomsonfly, First Choice, Thomas Cook.(www.flythomascook.com) .

Villa Nora is a semi-detached villa set in Bougainvillea`s lush mediterranean gardens full of mature olive trees and bright flowers.
The private, gated ground floor terrace leads directly to the large pool and is furnished for you to enjoy al fresco dining.
Double sets of patio doors lead off the terrace into the open plan living room and kitchen with dining area.
There are two large sofas in the living room (one of which is a double sofa bed enabling the villa TO SLEEP A MAXIMUM OF 6 PEOPLE-see extra costing).
Also included is a selection of DVDs/CDs and reading books for you to enjoy during your stay.
For security there is a key-operated safe in the villa.
An ironing board is also provided.
Upstairs- bedroom 1 has a double bed and full balcony overlooking the pool area whilst bedroom 2 has twin beds and a french balcony. There is plenty of storage available in both rooms.
İn addition to the upstairs bathroom with shower cubicle there is a downstairs cloakroom.
Water is heated by an electric boiler system so is constantly hot even in the winter months.
There is air-conditioning throughout the villa which can also provide heating in winter.

Further details outdoors:
The focal point of the complex is the large freeform swimming pool with jacuzzi and separate children's` pool. There are plenty of cushioned sunbeds and parasols around the gardens for you to relax and soak up the sunshine and should you require a refreshing drink the well-stocked bar is close by. The bar also serves snacks and food throughout the day so you can totally chill out, after all you are on holiday!
For the more energetic amongst you there is a pool table, table tennis table and a small gym on the complex too.
Satellite TV showing sport and children's` programmes is available in the bar area.
Just outside the complex there are mini-markets to get your daily supplies and local bars and restaurants within 200 metres. The dolmus buses to the other resorts stop on the road here.

Further details

For two week stays there will be a full clean and bed linen and towel change at the end of the first week.

Please note pool/beach towels are not provided you must bring your own.
