The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
Ovacik / Hisaronu is located in the Olu Deniz region of Turkey's Turquoise Coast. Without doubt one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline anywhere in the Mediterranean. The region has Turkey's most dramatic coastline with mountains falling away into crystal clearwaters. Ovacik & Hisaronu are resorts located on a mountain plateau 1000ft above the "Blue Lagoon" at Olu Deniz and sits at the foot of Mount Babadag
Hisaronu / Ovacik area
The apartment is in Ovacik, 900 metres from the bustling resort centre of Hisaronu. Lively and bright the resort centre is packed with with gift shops, music bars and restaurants catering for every taste.
4kms from the apartment is the beachfront resort of Olu Deniz, which boasts the most fascinating and beautiful beach anywhere in the Mediterranean. The Blue Lagoon at Olu Deniz Beach is a designated National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The Lagoon has crystal clear, calm waters, with a range of activities including pedaloes, kayaking, canoeing, volleyball etc. Olu Deniz also offers a wide range of beachfront cafes, restaurants and bars.
Fethiye is a traditional Turkish town and is 7kms from the apartment. In Fethiye you can stroll the beautiful harbour, take boat trips, shop abundantly, eat in a huge selection of restaurants, drink in hundreds of local bars and dance the night away in traditional Turkish nightclubs. Olu Deniz and Fethiye are easily reached by local minibus or taxi. Hisaronu holds its weekly market each Monday and Fethiye holds its far superior market each Tuesday.
Trips to Saklikent Gorge River Walk, mud baths at Dalyan, Turtle Beach, Pamukkale, ancient city of Ephesus, Tlos, Butterfly Valley, Xanthos and Patara can be booked locally in Hisaronu. Other local activities include, Paragliding, Turkish Bath, ghost village of Kaya Koy, Jeep Safari, scuba diving, water rafting, jet skiing, boat trips, and Turkish Night.

Hi Dale ! We all thought the apartment and pool absolutely lovely and being private, few in number and set back from the road and slightly further up the hill was delightful .
NGI were also fantastic. The transfers both ways were slick and efficient and in good vehicles. The cleaners were the same and very cheery. The information on the trips left in the apartment was very good - we felt at home straightaway. We also liked the closeness of the restaurants and the spar type shop for bread etc. There was a good range of restaurants in Hisaronu and certainly Fetihye but we didn't need to go that far to be honest. The trips we went on were excellent value for money, and had great variety - we went on the jeep safari, the island boat trip and saw belly dancing, and visited Olu Deniz a couple of times, with the water sports there and we treated ourselves to a Turkish bath and massage - all were excellent. Dale, we think you have a most enviable possession in the apartment, its position and the arrangement you have with NGI is very good. And we want to thank you personally very much for all the hard work including your follow up queries etc that you have put into making our holiday 2008 so very enjoyable. Furthermore we would very much like to be considered to rent the apartment again for 2 weeks in August 2010 providing always that you would be able to assist us again in securing the early bird prices on the airline tickets. So as soon as they are released in 2009 (March or April ?) could you please get in touch with us again ?
