The Orka village complex is maintained to a very high standard, safe deposit boxes can be used at reception although I hope to have one installed by 2009. The complex provides a safe and carefree environment for your family holiday. The site has 24 hour security.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
Turkey’s south western Mediterranean Coast is often referred to as the Turquoise Coast, the area is surrounded by breath taking views, with stunning mountain backdrops and pine clad forests, its beauty is unquestionable. There are numerous well-known ancient ruins throughout the area and stunning scenery everywhere.
Oludeniz is one of Turkey's most acclaimed beach resorts; it is probably the most photographed resort and over the years has almost certainly featured in more holiday brochure covers than anywhere else in the world!
The beautiful turquoise waters of the bay and lagoon bask beneath the Babadag Mountain. From its summit you can try your hand at paragliding, with a graceful (or not so graceful) landing on the promenade below. There is also a choice of water sports.
The lovely Oludeniz lagoon is a conservation area and there is a small but very worthwhile charge for entry to the lagoon beach where the shallow waters are ideal for children. Between the shimmering Mediterranean and the glorious beach a lush green strip of grass and leafy trees provide welcome shade alongside a splendid collection of restaurants and beachside bars serving up a great cocktail of chilled drinks and chilled sounds.
Fethiye is a pretty town set at the foot of the pine-clad Mount Mendos and curving around a deep blue, island-scattered bay,it is no more than a 15 minute dolmus ride away from the villa. The town has a lovely harbuor and a distinct 'souk-like' atmosphere with a maze of streets lined with restaurants, bars and carpet, leather and spice shops.
A ski resort for winter holidays is about an hour's drive away.
Hisaronu / Central Hisaronu area
Hisaronu sits at the very fringe of a forest that sweeps majestically across the hillside to Fethiye. The nearby Greek ghost town of Kaya Koy presents an opportunity to delve into an extraordinary chapter of local history, whilst around Kaya village the country lanes are sprinkled with traditional Turkish farming communities and tiny villages with simple, rustic restaurants.
It is an ideal base and location for walkers as there are plenty of winding paths through the forests with wonderful views
By contrast, Hisaronu itself bustles with the happy atmosphere of a popular holiday resort; the cooler temperature in Hisaronu welcomes you back from a hard day at the beach and offers a well earned rest before your evening’s entertainment. Hisaronu is a recently established resort and although it has grown in the last few years it still retains its friendly vibrant feel with a terrific selection of family bars and eateries and has plenty to offer and caters for all age groups.
There are plenty of activities and attractions in the Hisaronu area including the 5 & 12 island boat day trips, Horse Riding, Quad Biking, White Water Rafting, Gulet Cruises, Jeep Safaris, Paragliding, various water sports, Scuba Diving, Snorkeling, Fishing, aqua park and much more.
Further excursions include visiting the ancient tombs and ruins at Tlos, Xanthos with the beautiful site of Pinara being one of the three major cities in the Xanthos valley and one of the six principal cities of Lycia.
Visit the classical archaeological site at Ephesus or Pamukkale known as "Cotton castle" - a vast white cliff side with scallop shaped basins of water and frozen waterfalls. It looks as if it's made out of snow, cloud or balls of cotton and is known to many as the 8th wonder of the world.
Saklikent gorge or the "Hidden Valley" is a must - it is the longest and deepest gorge in Turkey - 18 km long and so steep and narrow that the sun does not penetrate the water, leaving it deliciously icy-cold in the summer. Saklikent is a canyon which is unbelievably beautiful, mystic and fascinating. You can also glide along the river in a dingy to bathe in the mud-bath at the end of the rafting.
All excursions are very affordable and can be booked at sales outlets in Hisaronu town and Oludeniz at competitive rates.
The weekly markets in Hisaronu and Fethiye are not to be missed if you like bargain hunting and don’t forget to haggle.
I would also recommend visiting one of the local barbers for a shave and a massage; all for only a couple of pound, you will feel fantastic & so relaxed afterwards trust me - lady's included for leg shaves !!
