The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

The Turquoise Coast comprising beautiful beaches and rugged and lush scenery enjoys hot and sunny weather throughout its long summer. The villa nestles at the foot of the Babadag Mountains and benefits from a warm and welcome breeze at the height of summer - much needed as summer temperatures average 30 - 40 c with a winter average of 15 c.

The nearest beach is in Olu Deniz, one of Turkeys’ most famous and most photographed beaches. At the far end of the beach you will find the Blue Lagoon set inside a national park area. It is sheltered with still, warm waters perfect for safe swimming and paddling for any age group.

Fethiye is a large and lively harbour town with a lovely marina and promenade. Every Tuesday there is a huge traditional Turkish market which is the largest of its kind in the area – a must for locals and tourists alike with its heady mix of exotic spices, teas, fruits, vegetables and of course Turkish delight. Traders come from far and wide to sell goods ranging from designer handbags and jeans to jewellery. Try your hand at haggling and grab a bargain.

Visit the ghost town of Kayokoy village once home to 3,500 Greek residents who were deported in 1923. It is fascinating to see its empty streets and roofless houses. There are also numerous restaurants offering BBQ and a swim in their pool if you fancy a welcome break.

There are many trips and excursions available with a full day boat trip around the islands where you can swim in secluded coves and spot turtles and dolphins, for as little as £12 per person (including lunch!). Other trips include:

- jeep safari ride;

- water rafting and kayaking;

- microlite flight;

- Butterfly Valley;

- tandem paragliding from Babadag mountain;

- Hisoranu Aqua park;

- horse riding;

- trip along Dalyan river (home to the Loggerhead turtles) and to the rejuvenating mud baths and spa;

- Sakilikent Gorge some 18km long and the the second largest in Europe;

- the ancient city of Ephesus and the calcium mountains and warm spas of Pamukale;

- The Yakapark trout farm with fascinating water features and tree top dining;

- A 90 min hydrofoil will take you across to the island of Rhodes.

In essence, the area has an enormous range of excursions and activities. You can be sure to find something to suit every taste!

Hisaronu is a lively town with friendly locals dedicated to ensuring tourist satisfaction. Sitting in the hills above the Blue Lagoon it is close to both Fethiye and Oludeniz with their glorious beaches.

The rugged landscape around Hisaronu is ideal for those who enjoy hiking. The hills are wooded offering shade and the temperatures are cooler than at sea level. Alternatively the hills can be explored on horseback or on mountain bikes.

This vibrant town is full of gift shops, bars, cafes and restaurants which cater for every taste. At night it is particularly lively when holidaymakers from nearby resorts come to join in the fun. Eating out and entertainment is great value and hair cut, shave or mani/pedicure much cheaper than at home, so it is worth treating yourself.

Smaller than Fethiye, Hisoranu has an excellent market every Monday where you can buy low cost designer style bags, clothes, jewellery and local souvenirs.

Our favourite restaurants include Castellos for international cuisine or Festival for traditional Turkish fayre. For a speacial evening - try The Sundial in Fethiye where you can dine whilst watching the sunset over the sea. Details of these and many more can be found in the welcome guide in our villa.

A Hisaronu holiday offers far more than just lazing on a hot beach. There are so many different activities to more than fill your days.

"fabulous villa with all your home comforts and more."

Had a fantastic time staying in ovacik
The villa was just amazing ..lovely fridge to keep all the essential drinks cold and the water cooler was a god send
The pool is huge for such a small amount of villas.
No complaints whatsoever and I am the chief of complainers but struggled on this one.

"Favulous villa, well equipped holiday home"

A lovely modern, well equipped holiday home with shared pool. Very spacious villa and furnished to a high standard. All 4 bedrooms are en-suite. A small, friendly restaurant is nearby and taxis can be easily booked from the villa to the nearby town of Hisoranu. Five girls had a lovely, relaxing, enjoyable holiday. A visit to the Turkish baths and mud baths is a must. Olu Deniz is a very pretty place to visit. Would definitely recommend this villa.

It is good to hear that you all enjoyed your holiday and the villa - hope you return again.

"Luxurious Turkish Delight!"

We enjoyed our stay at the Emerald Villas immensely.

The property is designed and decorated to a high standard and is very modern and chic in look. Located at the foot of the stunning Babadag Mountain it boasts its own private pool in a self-contained community of private villas. Outside of the patio doors is a bbq/seating/garden area adjacent to the pool, as well as a balcony leading from the two second floor bedrooms. This is a lovely and quiet place to sit and read a book or to take in the most glorious view of the sunset behind the mountain or to see the paragliders overhead.

Each bedroom has an en-suite and the villa has the added benefit of a maid service that will clean, change linen and towels during your stay - unheard of in most self-catering villas! This just adds to the luxury and relaxation of your stay.

The Villas are attached to the Orka Hotel and you can benefit from using all of the hotels facilities as well as being invited to part take in their entertainment evenings.

Although a few minute's walk from the main town it is easy to get anywhere as outside the entrance to the villas is a taxi call button, this service is great and runs regularly. The cabs will drop you were ever requested, and when you wish to return the call buttons can be found in most places in the town too. We had a child in a buggy and although it was an easy walk into the town it was far easier and cheap to get a cab!

Ovacik is the nearest town and provides lots of amenities, restaurants and bars as well as a supermarket; Azda that provides many trusted brands.

Hisaronu is just a few minute's walk further and is even more bustling with shops, restaurants and a great nightlife.

Fethiye is a must see if you have a love of markets and fish! They have a fish market where you choose the fish you want and a restaurant nearby will cook it up for you, recommending the best recipe for your choice - we loved it here!!

Olu-Deniz is a stunning bohemian beach resort. This is a place where you have to stay to enjoy the clean crystal waters and see the most beautiful sunsets in one of the beach cafes. You can choose from the main beach which is pebbled or a few minute's walk away you can for a small fee go to one of the private lagoons, where if you are lucky you can catch a glimpse of the turtles that frequent here. All of the beaches are clean and safe for children - my 5 year old loved it here.

Overall we had a great time and even though we travelled out of season, we found lots to do and when the sun came out we found it the most stunning place to be. The locals where friendly and couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating.

Such a fantastic review of our villa no11 Emeralds, and your overall holiday experience.
We love the area very much and when our guests enjoy their holiday as much as you
and your family obviously did, we know we are providing a fantastic base to enable guests
to have a great time and discover and experience everything the accommodation and resort have
To offer holidaymakers.

Our stay at the Emerald villa in Turkey was fantastic. The villa was big, bright and very tastefully furnished. Every thing you needed was available. The villa in my view is probably best situated on the complex, right next to the pool. The surroundings are beautiful and very peaceful. With a short walk or taxi ride if wished into the local town its an ideal location. Eating out was very cheap and to a high standard with lots to see. The maid service was a complete bonus, not like any other villa holiday that we've experienced. No late night rowdiness, all the people staying on the complex were lovely. A good mixture, night life if you want it in the town, or a quiet evening meal, or a relaxing BBQ under the veranda, which was also provided. We enjoyed out holiday so much that we have booked the same two weeks this year at the same villa.

It is wonderful when guests give positive feed-back on the villa and their holiday, and when guests like yourselves re-book it feels great!

"emerald villa"

we stayed in this complex in may 2012, we enjoyed it so much that we rented emerald villa 11. the villa is beautiful. there is everything you could need. the staff at the orka hotel are always on hand if you want anything. the owner of the villa was a pleasure to deal with.
you can have a quite relaxing holiday if that is what you want or you can walk 10minutes down the road to the night life. there are plenty of places to eat and drink, all the staff at the bars are helpful and pleasant. allthough the complex is on a hill right outside there is calling point for a taxi. they are, quick to respond and not expensive.
we have been to turkey many times before, but i have to say, this villa was our best stay to date and we will definitely be going back,

We were so pleased to hear that you enjoyed our villa and the complex, and we look forward to you returning again.

"Fantastic villa and holiday!"

My family and I stayed at the villa for 2 weeks last July and had a fantastic holiday. The villa was all you could want and was equiped with everything you needed and more! The cleaning service provided was excellent and having access to all the Orka facilities too was an added bonus. My grandchildren aged 13 and 9 just did not want to leave after our two weeks stay and were never out of the swimming pool which was also kept very clean. The walk into town in the evenings was lovely but it was also nice just to sit and relax outside and enjoy the stunning views all around. We are returning again this year as we all loved it so much but unfortuntely need to book a 5 bed villa this time after we raved about it so much last year - more of our family wish to join us this year! I would have no hesitation in recommending this villa and holiday to anyone.

It was wonderful to hear you and your family enjoyed our villa and had such a memorable holiday - so much so you are returning to the complex this year (in a 5 bedroom villa to accommodate your extended family). The villa, pool and grounds are maintained to an extremely high standard by the Orka staff, which is essential in our opinion for a pleasant and safe holiday. We look forward to welcoming you back to our villa in the future.
