Home description

Built in 2006, our villa is fully air conditioned throughout and comfortably sleeps eight people in four double or twin bedrooms, all with private en-suite facilities. The well proportioned ground floor is open plan with a modern, fully fitted kitchen and lounge/dining area making the villa ideally equipped to cater for families and friends alike.

Outside, the 50m2 private swimming pool is surrounded by a generous patio and barbecue area, perfect for relaxing and socialising.

Out and about, the nearest taxi rank is within 100m of the villa with the closest mini-mart a convenient 150m away. Hisaronu, with its shops and bustling night life, is a short 10 minute walk. The more cosmopolitan Fethiye and beautiful Oludeniz are a little further away taking 10-15 minutes on the local Dolmus.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

One of the most magnificent features of the region is Oludeniz which has one of the best beaches in the Mediterranean. At only a 15 minute Dolmus ride away the town is a “must see”. The tranquil crystal clear turquoise waters and golden sands of the Blue Lagoon nestle at the foot of the Babadag Mountain. Protected within a national park, the bay is Turkey’s most photographed beach.

The area is dominated by the Babadag Mountain and there are many companies offering tandem paragliding jumps. The ride up the mountain in the back of a truck on narrow winding mountain paths is not for the faint hearted but the view from the top is spectacular. As is the parachute ride back to the beach where all the paragliders land.

Even more impressive is the Saklikent Gorge. At over 20km long and hundreds of feet high it is the second longest gorge in Europe. Set into the Taurus Mountains you can walk the first 4km, but only after the mountain snow melt water has subsided, which is usually towards the end of April.

Fethiye is the provincial town in the Mugla region, is more sophisticated than Ovacik, Hisaronu or Oludeniz and is a 15 minute Dolmus ride away. Always busy, tourism plays an important role but is not overbearing. It is quite cosmopolitan and has a picturesque water front and marina. The Tuesday market is a worthwhile visit not only for its sheer size but also for the myriad of vibrant colours of the vast range of local produce and products on sale.

Hisaronu / Ovacik area

Ovacik itself is reasonably quiet with a good selection of local bars, tavernas and restaurants. At 1,000’ above sea level the area immediately surrounding the villa enjoys spectacular views of pine clad mountains. Its elevated position benefits from a cooling breeze coming up the mountain from the sea which is very welcome in the scorching hot summer months.

Hisaronu is much livelier and is a short 10 minute walk away. It has a bustling nightlife with an extensive selection of bars, clubs, tavernas and restaurants catering for all tastes. With its colourful boutiques it’s the ideal place to shop for holiday gifts as well as the best place to book any trips you may want to do.

How to get there

The closest airport is Dalaman. Transfers can be arranged locally and take around 45 minutes.

On the first floor the master double bedroom has a dressing room, en-suite bathroom and large balcony to the front of the villa. The second bedroom on the first floor is a twin with an en-suite shower room and it also has its own smaller balcony. There are two further bedrooms in the basement – one double and one twin each with their own en-suite shower rooms. All four of the bedrooms are a good size and have a double wardrobe, chest of drawers and two bedside drawers.

There is a fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar which extends into a well proportioned open plan lounge/dining area.

Further details outdoors:
Furnished with patio table and chairs, the master bedroom balcony catches the last of the day’s sun, providing the ideal setting for sun-downer drinks and a chat or game of cards. The terrace below is similarly equipped for alfresco eating.

Outside there is a good sized private swimming pool surrounded by an extensive patio with sun loungers, tables and umbrellas. There is a barbecue area to the side of the villa.

The pool is available May to October.

Further details

The villa is situated in the unspoilt Mugla region of South West Turkey. Whilst peaceful and relaxing the villa is still within easy reach of local amenities as the closest mini-market, taxi rank and local Dolmus route are all within a convenient 150m of the villa. There is a supermarket in Hisaronu with two large supermarkets in Fethiye.

The Dolmus (local minibus service) will stop and pick you up and drop you off anywhere along its route and costs about £0.75 to Hisaronu, £1 to Oludeniz and £1.50 to Fethiye. However, be warned that even when you think the bus is full and people are standing some of the drivers will still continue to stop and let more people on. It can get very cosy so don’t be shy about meeting other people.

The 4 star Club Orka Hotel is 100m away and villa guests may use the hotel’s facilities as if they were guests at the hotel itself. The hotel offers an á la carte menu as well as many theme nights including traditional Turkish nights with open buffets and live entertainment. The hotel has its own spa comprising Turkish bath, sauna, Jacuzzi and multi gym as well as four swimming pools - one indoor pool and three outdoor pools, one of which is suitable for infants and one of which has a flume.

Unless otherwise agreed in advance, departing guests to leave no later than 12:00 on the day of departure and incoming guests to arrive no earlier than 16:00 on the day of arrival. This is to allow sufficient time to clean the villa and launder the linen between guests.
