The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
The Turquoise Coast is a beautiful region to vist. Mountains, clear blue waters, clean beaches, amazing scenery and clear blue skies...magical! Summers are hot from May to October. The weather is still pleasantly warm out of the main season ideal for those seeking a more relaxed atmosphere.
Plenty of places to visit in the area of historical interest - Kayakoy that was once a prosperous Greek community of Levissi but was abandoned in 1923 and is now a "ghost " town.
Saklikent Gorge, Butterfly Valley, Loggerhead Turtles at Dalyan and the Lycian Tombs are to name but a few of the many interesting places to be found along this wonderful coastline.
Hisaronu and Ovacik are surrounded by the back drop of the Taurus Mountains with lush pine forests and beautiful countryside.
Ovacik has become very popular and grown over the years to provide hotels and villas in the beautiful hillsides. The nearby town of Hisaronu provides the shops bars and restaurants with the famous Olu Deniz beach and Blue Lagoon a short drive away that is well worth a vist. The area provides something for all age groups.
Try out the paragliding if you dare! The jump point is just up Baba Dagi mountain ( behind our villa) and soar out over the wonderful blue lagoon at Olu Deniz.
Olu Deniz also marks the start of the Lycian Way,Turkeys first long distance walking route, which ends just short of Antalya.
Fethiye is one of the oldest towns along the coast with a marina providing fishing and boat excursions. A
Large market is held every Tuesday that attracts locals as well as visitors.
Rhodes can be visited by boat during the summer season taking only 1 1/2 hours.

"Lovely modern villa, great town, great views."
The villa was top notch, lovely and modern at the top of a hill overlooking hisaronu. The sunsets every night were amazing. Be warned walking up this hill isn't an option really in August, especially with children it's just too hot and steep. There was a number for taxi 'Gem' who was great all week, we used him everyday, he would drop you off then u'd give him a missed call and he'd come pick you up. He can also book restaurants etc... best use him over the villa 'manager - andy'. Very reasonable, but I would say if you have kids that you will need to use him where ever you go.
The manager, Andy, tbh was good and bad... He asked us to buy him £7 cheese and bring it over, never said thank you, we asked him to book us a table at a restaurant with free pickup, transfer never turned up turns out he never did it, so that really wound us up.
The villa manual says maid service, we didn't have a maid come clean, the place after 10 days was in a right state and not a hoover in sight. Also mentions reps from the near by Orka hotel would pop by, never did... The pool was well kept amazing all week though. The thing I found most wierd is the owner didn't cash the cheque until we were back home in England after our holiday!!!... I imagined the money had already gone out of my account, but to my surprise I still owed them, so this was annoying (partly stupid of me not to realise). I did say to the owner you're being very trusting letting people stay without paying... bizarre if you ask me.
The transfers we booked were cheap and easy. Beware the Monarch early hours flights, they use the old cramped planes, so the journey was hard work...
It's still really cheap in Turkey, eating out in hisaronu is all the same really, just a bit of a party town, same food everywhere. But it's cheap. In oludeniz (by the beach) you get the better restaurants, some great places - buzz bar, the food was amazing and only £10 a head... can't complain there. The booze in supermarkets is expensive, spirits are all £30 - £50 so be warned. Wine is about £8 a bottle too. Beer a little cheaper. TBH eating in was more expensive than eating out...
One issue is that the wifi isn't included in the price... it's a bit tight asking for £24 for 10 days use when you've just paid over £1000. This should really be included in the price now days.

"Lovely Villa - Great Holiday"
We spent a fantastic week at Sunset Villa View Villa in August 2011, we expected a high standard from the description and photographs of the property online and we were certainly not disappointed, it was everything we hoped for and more. We're well used to renting holiday homes, but Sunset View is by far the best appointed we've ever stayed at.
We had seven days of unbroken sunshine, and in the evenings we had the choice of either quiet restaurants in Olu Deniz or the more lively atmosphere of Hisaranou, all at really reasonable prices (no euros here)
However we found the most enjoyable experience for us was to organise our own barbeque on the patio of the house, dining outside and watching beautiful sunsets over the mountains, while drinking perhaps a little too much local wine. The Sunset View villa certainly does live up to its name.
We can also recommend nearby Sugar Beach for a day out, lovely beach & swimming in the lagoon and sea, with a nice restaurant on the beach for local sea food.
The Orca Hotel were really helpful to us, we suggest you start your holiday as we did with a Turkish bath and massage there.
They also helped us with car hire, which although not strictly necessary for our stay at the villa was useful as we wanted to explore as much of the area as possible.
We rarely go back to re-visit places we've been before, but our week just wasn't long enough to take in all of the attractions of the Villa & surrounding activities. So we've booked two weeks for August 2012, which we're really looking forward to.
We would have no hesitation in recommended Sunset Villa to anybody looking for a luxury accommodation in this beautiful part of Turkey.

"Very Relaxing Holiday!!!!!!!!!!!!"
The overall service was really good.
Property is very modern with all modern equipment. The location is quiet but within easy reach of the local town where there are plenty of shops selling a large variety of gifts, food & clothes. There is a great choice of restaurants where the food is absolutely wonderful. There is also a market every Monday in Hisaronu.
Local bus takes you direct to town or beach at low cost.
A must visit is the Turkish Night held at The Orka Hotel on Wednesdays. They even send a courtesy car to pick you up & drop you back at the villa for free. Eat as much as you like & then enjoy the music!!!
There is so much more that I could tell you but I would highly recommend that you try this beautiful place to feel the real experience!!!!!!!!!!!
