The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

Turkeys south western coast is often referred to as the Turquoise Coast, due to it's crystal clear waters. The warm summer climate makes for a fantastic holiday where you can relax and take various excursions in an area that is steeped in history. The villa sits at the foot of the Babadag Mountains and benefits from a warm and welcome breeze at the height of the summer, which is much needed and makes it much more comfortable during the peak season when temperatures can sometimes average at 40C.

The pleasant spring and autumn climate make it an excellent location for walkers and explorers alike, who wish to walk along the many nature trails in the surrounding area.

Olu Deniz / The Blue Lagoon - The most photographed beach in Turkey is backed by dramatic pine-clad hills and is perfect for a laid-back beach holiday, where you can scuba dive, paraglide, jet ski or if you don't feel that energetic you can take a relaxing boat trip around the island.

Patara Beach - In recent years the winner of the "best beach in world" survey in the Sunday Times, Patara Beach is 54 km drive from Fethyie it has eighteen kilometres of soft white sand, backed by majestic dunes.

Fethyie - Is a large and lively market town with a marina and a promenade, only a 15 minute Dolmus ride from the villa. Every Tuesday is market day - a huge traditional Turkish market selling from herbs and spices to leather goods and clothes. Great if you like to haggle! The Old Town is full of character, with excellent restaurants & bars.

Saklikent Gorge - Is a must see! It is the second largest in Europe and the longest and deepest in Turkey. Enjoy a walk through the gorge itself or relax at one of the riverside tables , where you can eat freshly caught fish. There are also many traditional handmade market stalls that you can browse around. For the really adventurous try white water rafting or a doughnut ride in the ice cold rapids.

Kayakoy - Known as the ghost village is well worth a visit. It is fascinating to see and explore the ruins including the remains of an old church that are located on the hillside. Once inhabited by the Greeks in the 1920's was vacated after the War of Independence. This is only a few miles away by taxi.

Dalyan - Take a trip along the Dalyan river to the rejuvenating mud baths and spa. This is also a nature conservation area and a refuge for the Loggerhead Turtles.

Rhodes - A 90 minute journey by Hydrofoil from Fethyie, will take you across to the island of Rhodes.

The area also offers a wide range of sporting activities such as horse riding on the beach or up in the mountains, canoeing, kayaking, mountain climbing and white- water rafting.

Hisaronu

Hisonaru is a lively resort in a stunning location, surrounded by pine-clad mountains. It offers a vast selection of good restaurants and a lively night-life, that stays open until the early hours. There are plenty of shops to choose from so don't forget to haggle! There is also a small funfair for younger children.

Weekly Markets are held in Hisonaru on a Monday where you can buy low cost designer style bags, clothes, jewellery and local souvenirs. The town of Fethyie also holds an all day market on a Tuesday, which is well worth a visit.

Ovacik is not quite as lively as Hisaronu, but still has everything you could wish for to have a relaxing holiday. It has bars and restaurants, with shops lining the main road. It has a water park (fee payable) with several pools and slides and poolside entertainment. Ovacik is a lovely area for those who want to walk, horse ride or mountain bike in the surrounding countryside.

A Jeep safari is great fun and an exciting way to experience the magnificent views and countryside.

Paragliding is also a big draw with the descent from the Babadag mountains to land on Belcegiz beach.

"Fantastic holiday in this lovely villa"

Great villa, lovely and clean in well maintained complex. Nice quiet location and perfect for our family group with young kids. Owner Julie was a pleasure to deal with from our first enquiry to arranging our transfers and making everything so simple. Villa was well equipped, outdoor areas and pool were all great making for a lovely relaxing holiday. The villa is located at the top of a very steep hill and whilst it was a pleasant 15min walk down to the shops and restaurants in Ovacik we would all recommend a taxi back. These were very cheap around 10 lira and in plentiful supply. There are lots of different trips to do in the area and lots of nice family friendly restaurants. The hotel is worth a visit and we all really enjoyed the show night but preferred the peace and tranquility of our villa during the day! Would definitely recommend, we all had a truly fantastic time staying here and hope to return

"Fabulous"

We had a fabulous time even got to experience an earthquake in the first week with thankfully no damage to ourselves or the villa.

The villa was very comfortable & spacious for the six of us and the maid service were very attentive and happy to provide any extras we required such as top sheets for the beds. The first week we literally had the pool to ourselves which was divine as the surrounding villas didn't get occupied until the second week. It's such a lovely setting with the back drop of the mountains that it was easy to unwind & relax there, it's a perfect setting.

I would definitely recommend your villa to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday.

I think the only negative was we had to leave……..

"Simply The Best!"

We have all just returned from a fabulous holiday at Emerald heights. The Villa was very comfortable and well equipped, infact it was just like home with the addition of a pool and plenty of sunshine!. An added advantage is the stunning views of the Babadag Mountains and a beautiful sea view. The maid service is excellent, the girls were very friendly and helpful and came on a regular basis to do the cleaning. The location is perfect for relaxing if you want, with just a short walk down hill to the livelier resort of Hisaronu with plenty of entertainment and very good restaurants which are reasonably priced. We would also recommend the facilities at the Orka Hotel the food at Sunset Restaurant is lovely and the setting is great for a quiet meal away from the hustle and bustle (if thats what you want)staff are very attentive. We had a few meals there and took advantage of the complimentary transport. Taxi's are plentifull and reasonably priced, with a taxi call button just outside the complex gate for convenience, We met lovely people on the complex during our holiday and hopefully will meet them again when we return if the future. The only downside really was the fact we had to leave and come home?

"Excellent small complex, Spacious comfortable Villa"

Most relaxed enjoyable Villa in excellent small complex of 11 Villas. Peaceful location where you can watch the paragliders come off Bagadad Mountain. Villa perfectly situated at side of pool with everything you need for a superb holiday. Maid service 3 times a week and 24 hour assistance from Orka Hotel if required.
Nice walk downhill into busy part of Hisaronu at night takes 15 mins, passing many restaurants and bars. Tip though - taxi back up hill again as quite steep and dusty farm track road. Great holiday will hopefully be back again. Spoke with many families who had returned again since last year and were looking for other villas in complex to recommend to their friend/family. Thanks again Baron family
