The Devon region

Our Lodges were built 6 years ago! the marker is over where they are - they are positioned at the top of the paddock, looking south towards Dartmoor - with absolutely fantastic views. See our website for more photographs and details.

We are 4 miles to the west of Hatherleigh just off the A3072

We are centrally places for all parts of Devon and Cornwall. The area is one of peace and tranquillity, so if it's a quiet base you want for your holiday, then Dartmoor View Lodges is the place to be. There is not much traffic either, you will of course encounter more when you venture afield, but you will always return to the tranquillity that this area offers.

Our particular little area used to be a farm. As an old farm, you will still see bales of hay stacked up and we often have sheep on the land. However, you are very likely to see more wildlife in the paddocks. In the early morning it is quite possible that you will see deer grazing. There are usually a lot of rabbits around, and Mr. Fox pays the occasional visit. Lots of squirrels too. Birdlife is plentiful, we have a paid of woodpeckers - they are very shy. We have a huge number of different birds that visit us. I have even seen a pretty little blue butterfly in the paddock.

"Peacful, beautiful and great value for money!"

Stayed here for 5 days during the kids summer hols. The accomodation was clean, well equipped and in a wonderful meadow by two other similar cabins. Sandra and her husband welcomed us and made us feel at home straight away, (a comp bottle of wine also helped!). The location was idea for surfing in Bude and exploring other parts of Devon, but you will certainly need a car. The nearest supermarkets are about 20 mins drive away so worth stocking up well on your way in. The local pubs serve average pub fare but the selection of ales were fantastic. The Half Moon in Sheepwash being our favourite. I would recommend this place especially for families seeking some peace and quiet. Yasser Hussain

"Beautiful log cabin with outstanding views"

Beautiful log cabin, finished to a high standard and very well equipped. Lovely views. If you like quiet then this is perfect for you. Owners of the cabins very helpful and accommodating.

"Fabulous Getaway!"

I brought my son for some R&R following an accident and we loved it. The cabin is very well equipped and we were very impressed with the standard. It is also really cosy and comfortable with enough space for us to move around. The views are incredible and we saw the moon rise over Dartmoor, which was really special. We liked that it was quiet when he needed to rest and close enough to the beach when he felt like going out. There was also enough space for us to go for walks when he felt like it too. Mr. and Mrs. Howell were very open and welcoming and extremely helpful when we needed additional assistance or information. We really enjoyed our stay and have recommended them to all our friends. We will definitely be back!
