Log cabin | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 4
NEW WEBSITE FOR 2013 - All of our Lodges have been awarded 4* status by Visit England. This is a Unique opportunity to stay in a really cosy Log Cabin. Our Lodges (or log cabins) are constructed from 8" pine logs. We have two other Lodges, namely Brambles and Bluebells. (No pets in Bluebells).
BRAMBLES is only available for week long bookings starting on Saturday (with the exception of Easter and Christmas).
They are all exceptionally warm and welcoming. We offer clean, comfortable accommodation which has views that are absolutely fantastic - right across miles of beautiful Devon countryside to Dartmoor in the distance. South facing with undercover patio. Parking on your own driveway alongside your Lodge and garden area for your picnics or for the children to play in. Our Lodges are fully furnished for up to four people, and are centrally placed for both the north and south coasts of Devon, and for the North Cornwall Coast - Widemouth Bay being a particular favourite.

Brambles differs only slightly from Buttercups and Bluebells. The differences are in the furnishings. Brambles has a double bed in the main bedroom and twin 3' beds in the second bedroom. The bedrooms are both the same size. There is a shower room with electric shower. The water is mains, so no problem with pressure!. There are heaters in all rooms and a log/coal burner in the living area.
1 or 2 small dogs are welcome in Brambles (Saturday start - weeks only) or Buttercups (Friday or Monday start - short breaks and weeks). The charge for pets is £5 per night per pet. We also ask for a £100 security deposit which will be refunded in full within 2 weeks of your holiday, providing there is no damage to the property.

About this location
The Devon region
Our Lodges were built 6 years ago! the marker is over where they are - they are positioned at the top of the paddock, looking south towards Dartmoor - with absolutely fantastic views. See our website for more photographs and details.
We are situated 4 miles to the west of Hatherleigh just off the A3072
Being centrally placed in Devon makes Dartmoor View Lodges convenient for all parts of Devon. It's not very far to the coast - we love Widemouth Bay. We are about 10 miles off the north west corner of Dartmoor, it's easy to go in any direction. .
Because we are in the countryside it is peaceful here - we are not a commercialised site. There is plenty of room for walking your dog, or playing ball games in the fields. There is a well stocked village shop, and several pubs within a short distance. The Ruby trail runs along the lower border of our land. We have 11 acres for you to play in.

"Clean, Comfortable & Cosy!"
Wonderful lodge, very well equipped and absolutely immaculate! With two small children we had lots of room
and a very safe outside environment - will definitely be back! A very good place to explore Devon & Cornwall

"Lovely large lodge with stunning views over North Devon."
This is a lovely property with great views over North Devon. We received a very warm welcome from Sandra and she was on hand if needed at any time. The property is in excellent all round condition. It has ample room for a family and has good cooking and BBQ facilities. We travelled with our two young sons who loved all the space around the lodge for running and playing. It is about 40 minutes from the beach. There is no wi-fi/internet access. The information folder in the lodge was full of useful information relating to the lodge and places to visit, where to shop, etc. We had a very enjoyable stay and would return again in future.
Wi-fi can be intermittent in this area - however, if wi-fi is important whilst on holiday, we can provide the service in an area closer to the hub!

"Peace and tranquility"
If you want wonderful views, peace and tranquility then this is the place for you! Cabin was excellent and well stocked. Hosts were friendly and helpful without being intrusive and the welcome bottle of wine was much appreciated. Would recommend the Half Moon pub at Sheepwash for a great meal.

"A warm, welcoming and relaxing home from home"
From the friendly welcome from Sandra and Ken to the delightful countryside and views it's a challenge to fault our stay. The cabins are well built and beautifully presented. They effortlessly acheive cosiness without being cramped. Ken showed us how to get the best from the log burner and though it wasn't really needed it's nice to sit by in the evening. The Ruby Trail is right at the bottom of the field so we enjoyed evening walks and there was plenty of bird life to watch and listen. So much space for the kids to wear themselves out.
We spent some of our time on the moor behind Okehampton and on the beach at Widemouth, near Bude, (rockpools;we now have enough shells, sand and pebbles to make a grotto in our back garden). The wave pool in Bude is nice and clean and the kids couldn't get enough of the slide. There is a Waitrose in Okehampton and in Holsworthy.
We went to the archery centre across the road and had a taster session, Arms of Old, which was really good fun. The owners were very knowledgable and the coaching was professional and personable.
