Cottage | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 2
Beautiful Cockle Bay Cottage is situated on a quiet lane near the heart of the historic village of Heysham, and is only a couple of minutes walk from the beach. It is thought that 'Cockle Bay' is one of the oldest cottages in the village and she retains much of her character and charm. A two tier, decked, private garden offers spectacular views across Morecambe Bay to the Lakeland Fells.
This is the ideal place for you to relax and unwind. Previous guests have been inspired to write poetry, stories, paint and compose music whilst staying here, such is the peace and tranquillity of the area!
Downstairs is a lounge/diner, with dining table and chairs, a sofa, armchair and chaise longue. The cast iron gas fire and gas central heating provide warmth and a cosy feel to Cockle Bay.
There is a TV/DVD player, CD Radio and games cupboard containing books, puzzles, CD's, DVD's and needlecraft materials.
Four stairs take you up to the kitchen, from here is a small lobby area where you can sit and take off your boots and hang up your coat. A stable door, to the side, leads onto the private garden.
Upstairs is a landing, with storage area, and the bedroom with double bed.
The rear garden is set on different levels, having a patio with table and 2 chairs, and wooden steps that lead up to a two tier decked area with bench and tables. This area is protected by a natural rock face so you can sit, relax and enjoy the stunning sea views whilst being protected from the wind.
There is an allocated parking space at the Royal Hotel, a couple of minutes walk away.
Gas and electric are included in the price, (Subject to our 'Fair Usage' Policy).
Freshly laundered bed linen, towels and tea towels are also included.

The Lake District is about an hours drive from Heysham. It is an area of outstanding beauty, with plenty of activities to suit all tastes.
Take a boat ride on Lake Windermere, a visit to Bowness is not to be missed!
Fell Foot Park is ideal for a lazy day out. Hire a rowing boat, visit the cafe or take a picnic and sit at the edge of the lake ..... but if it's shops you're after Kendal is the place to go!
Morecambe is, of course, famous for Eric Morecambe! You cannot leave without having your picture taken by the statue of Eric in that well known pose!
There's plenty to see and do in the area, such as having a round of golf at Heysham golf course, (pre-booking advised), visiting the beautiful St Peter's Church in Heysham, taking a stroll along the award-winning promenade or around 'Happy Mount Park'. Visit the iconic Art Deco Midland Hotel or, just a short drive away, is Lancaster - with it's stories of ghosts and witches!
