Northern England region

Northumberland has space! Open moors to pony trek, walk, ride or drive.

Big beaches with spectacular castles.

Hadrian's wall, Cragside, Durham cathedral, Hexham abbey are all worth a visit.

An indoor swimming pool is in Hexham and Haltwhistle has a heated outdoor pool.

Hexham

Allendale has butchers, co-op, pubs and restaurants. Lovely walks along the river bank and up to the moors. The cottage was made for workers in the lead mining industry in the 1800s and there is plenty of interest for the archeology enthusiast.
