Tucked away down a quiet lane within the heart of the historic Abbey town of Hexham, Northumberland, this grade two listed mews style cottage offers secluded self catering holiday accommodation to an excellent standard, for two to five people.
The Mews, is a three bedroom house with a private walled courtyard, which was originally part of the tannery and has recently been renovated to a high standard. All modern facilities are provided, including a fully equipped kitchen.
A pleasant short walk through the park takes you to the heart of Hexham town centre with the local amenities, the Abbey, and such things as the local swimming pool.
The Mews has recently been awarded 4 stars by The Good Britain Guide.

The Northern England / Yorkshire / Northumberland region
Northumberland is Hadrian's Wall Country.
Hadrian's Wall is nearby which appeals to many walkers and tourists alike.
There are the local villages of Slaley and Corbrige which are very picturesque.
The coast to coast cycle route is nearby, and there are also many other local (shorter) routes.
The River Tyne is only a few miles away for the fishing enthusiasts out there. Fishing licences can be obtained in Hexham.
Fancy a day a the races? Hexham Racecourse is only five minutes away by car.
For the golfers - there is both Slaley Hall and Matfen golf courses.

Hexham is an Abbey Town, and has a market each Saturday morning.
There are many amenities in Hexham. There are local shops which are delightful to browse around. There are several cafes, restaurants and bars - all within a short walk of The Mews. There are two large supermartkets nearby also.
In Hexham there is a great deal for children too -
Indoor swimming pool Cinema Park The river is a short walk away with a canoeing club and other water sports. Keilder Forest is approximately 25 miles away which has many events, cycling and also a lake.
Corbridge is the nearby village, which is very picturesque and has many quaint and different little shops to browse around.
How to get there
The Mews is located in the centre of Hexham, and therefore is just a short walk from shops and restaurants. It is just one mile away from the Hexham Train station, which is on the mainline between Newcastle Upon Tyne and Carlisle. Hexham itself is approximately a 30 minute drive from Newcastle Upon Tyne and the A1. Newcastle International Airport is approximately a 20 minute drive. Easyjet, Jet2, and British Airways all fly into Newcastle airport. If travelling by car there is ample off street car parking.

The living room has french doors opening out on to the private walled courtyard. It benefits from gas stove effect fire for those cold winter days, plus TV, DVD and CD player.
The kitchen is highly equipped with all the gadgets and equipment you could ever need, from a garlic press to a coffee machine!
There is a separate utility room.
All the rooms look out on to the courtyard.

A welcome pack is provided on arrival. Owners are nearby to deal with any queries you may have. The property is strictly no smoking.
Conditions
One well behaved pet is allowed. A refundable breakages deposit of £100 is payable before arrival to be refunded within 7 days of departure (subject to satisfactory inspection). Full payment is due 6 weeks before arrival date.
