The Old Exchange is a luxury (Wi-Fi enabled) apartment in the heart of Corbridge with its own private garden and parking area. The three large bedrooms (Two King size and one either Super-King or Twin, are all en-suite), offering flexible accommodation with style, along with a guest toilet, utility room, spacious living room and contemporary fitted kitchen, making " The Old Exchange", one of the most desirable holiday lets and destinations in Northumberland. As well as the luxury apartment, the village itself offers excellent shopping, fine dining with a multitude of options from public houses, a coaching Inn and award winning restaurants plus many other delicatessens cafe and coffee establishments. In addition the village boasts many indipendant shops, boutiques and galleries, guaranteed to provide you with unique stylish gifts and purchases hard to find anywhere else. The holiday apartment itself is situated above a unique comtemporary art gallery and a childrens designer boutique clothing shop. The location is close to the Roman Wall (with a Roman Fort and museum on the outskirts of the village itself) and you are just a short drive to Newcastle and the Metro centre if additional serious retail therapy is required. You are still only an hour away from Carlisle to the West, Durham, it's famous cathederal and the world famous Beamish open air living museum to the south or North to Alnwick Castle (better known as Hogwarts to Harry potter fans) and not much further (an additional 30 minutes) to Lindesfarne (Holy Island) where the Lindesfarne Gospels were written. You also have the Lake District (and Scotland) are only a couple of hours away so you really are very well positioned for the perfect holiday.

The apartment is situated above the contemporary "Off The WAll" Art Gallery on Hill street in the middle of the village. The stairs take you to the first floor where there is a fully fitted contemporary kitchen with dishwasher, fridge freezer and microwave, a large spacious living room and a large Bedroom offering either twin beds or a Superking dependant on your requirements. This bedroom has a large en-suite bathroom. There is also a utility room with washer dryer and a guest toilet. A further staircase leades to the second floor where there are two Kingsize bedrooms both with ensuite showers, basins and wc's. Everything has been done to a high standard and feedback from our guests suggest that it is the best facility in the area for this size of accomodation.

There is a private garden at the rear of the property plus parking for three cars. there are 6 public houses, 5 cafes and an Italian, Indian, chinese and five restaurants within 100 yards of the apartment. There is also a local grage, small supermarket and a varirety of shops in the village with a large Tesco, waitrose and Marks and Spencer in Hexham 3 1/2 miles away. There is a bus stop outside the property and a fifteen minute walk from the railway station (and a second award winning indian restaurant)! There is a leasure centre, swimming pool and bowking alley in Hexham with public acsess and a number of private gyms including Matfen Hall Hotel and Country Club four miles away.
Because the apartment is on the first and second floors, we do not recommend small children and we do have a no pets policy again because of the standard and location. Our changeover day is saturday although we can do 3-4 day rentals at 75% of the weekly rate.
Northern England region
Northumberland is on of the most histopric places in Europe. As well as the county that has the Roman Wall and where Christianity first came to Britain. It is the home of the infamous Border Reavers, a wild bunch of outlaws who made the vikings look like nuns. It is also the home of the Jacobite rebellions of 1715 and 1745 and the same location (Dilston, just two miles from Corbridge) was also where the Gunpowder plot was formed in the 1600's. Even today you have the award winning living history museum of Beamish only 30 miles away and you are less than 50 miles by dual carriageway to Alnwick castle, better known to most young people as "Hogwarts" of Harry potter fame. There are lots to do and see for all ages and the walks are stunning especially up around Blanchland on the Durham border just 10 miles away. Once you have had a week in this area you will be comming back for many weeks to come just to see what you discovered the first week. Nothumberland is not just for holidays, it's for Life. Or at least a lifetime of holidays!
