About this location
The East Anglia region
East Anglia is a region of eastern England. Much of the area is characterised by its flatness, partly consisting of fenland and reclaimed marshland, although much of Suffolk and Norfolk is gently rolling hills.
Suffolk contains some wonderful historic sites and buildings including the dramatic castles at Framlingham and the famous ship burial of an Anglo Saxon warrior king and his most treasured possessions at Sutton Hoo.
The climate ranges from temperatures of 5–10 degrees Celsius in the winter to 20–25 degrees Celsius in the summer, although the temperatures have been known to reach 35 degrees Celsius in recent years. The total hours of sunshine tends to be higher towards the coastal areas.
The market town of Bury St Edmunds is just 7 miles away. Take a stroll around the famous Abbey Gardens of St Edmund or watch a show at the Theatre Royal, recently refurbished, one of the most beautiful, intimate and historic theatres in the world. The historic towns of Norwich, Colchester and Cambridge are all less than an hours drive.
Visit Aldeburgh, just 40 miles away, and experience the stunning historic coastline, or Southwold, famous for its exclusive, multi coloured beach huts. Lavenham and Long Melford, the home of medieval wool towns with their crooked, timbered cottages and ancient churches are also a must for visitors.
Heritage Suffolk is the heart of horse racing. Newmarket boasts two race courses, the National Horse Racing Museum and National Stud. Most early mornings you can see race horses exercising on the gallops.
Jimmy’s Farm, just a 30 minute drive located in Wherstead, offers a great family day at the nations favourite TV farm packed with opportunities for you and your little ones to meet with rare breads, follow the nature trail, wonder around the animal paddocks and enjoy the new butterfly house.
If that doesn’t take your fancy then why not visit Duxford, Europe's premier aviation museum. Just 45 minutes away, this museum offers a variety of family activities and a number of magnificent shows throughout the year.

"Lovely relaxing break away"
We loves staying in this fantastic barn conversion. Really lovely quiet location, but close enough to the centre of bury and surrounding areas. Accommodation is brilliant, didn't want to leave after the two days, would love to come back for a week. The owners could not have been more helpful. Felt like we were miles away from everyone, however they were just next door for anything we needed. Would not hesitate to recommend this place to friends and family.
Thank you so much for your kind words, and yes we would love to see you back again soon.

We are glad to hear you enjoyed your stay once you eventually found us. I know looking for somewhere in the dark whilst wet and windy is awful, It has happened to me many times. It was unfortunate that you had left behind the directions I had sent you, however having found us we hope you may decide to visit again in the future.
