The apartment is located in Herzelia Pitouach. It consists of a bedroom and a livingroom of 65 sqm, making it a very large and open space. The apartment is also only 100 m from a lovely beach with a long walkway near the sea. There is also a large shopping centre nearby.

You have a view to the garden from the apartment and a lot of coffee shops and restaurants are nearby. Additional facilities include an intercom and cable TV, a nice kitchenette with a electric cooker, fridge & freezer, microwave oven, kettle and toaster. The apartment also has air conditioning.

The Tel Aviv District / Hasharon/Herzliya region

Western Herzliya, also called Herzliya-Pitu'ah, is located on the Mediterranean coast with a stretch of popular beachfront hotels, high-tech business area, busy trendy restaurants and an exclusive residential area housing the residence of the United States ambassador and many of Israel's crème de la crème. Herzliya is one of the main tourist locations in Israel.


The Mediterranean sea provides a finishing touch to cottage accommodation. There are many beach entrances to choose from. Basically the Herzliya Pituach beach can be divided in a Southern (crowded) part and Northern (quite) part.
The Southern part of the beach is spotted with hotels and restaurants During the summer you will have to purchase an entry ticket to get into these beaches. The Northern beach of Sidna Ali is free of charge, less crowded and in many ways nicer. From Sidna Ali you can even go up north a long the coast and reach the Apollonian ruins, remains of an ancient fortress along the cost.

The beach
Be aware of the intensity of the sun during the summer. During this time of the year, It is highly recommended to go to the beach early in the morning and on the afternoons. Water temperatures vary between seasons. Expect warm water during summer (28 °C). Moderate in spring and autumn (20 °C) and cold in winter (16 °C). Near Hof Hasharon beach you will find a variety of stores to purchase necessities for a beach visit. The fashionable new Marina is also located on the Southern part of the beach and offers a beutifully designed shopping mall with trendy shops, numerous waterfront restaurants, an exclusive yacht club and a variety of nautical services. Lifeguards are present during working hours in most of the beaches.

Currents & waves: the Mediterranean sea is often calm and good for swimming. However, on certain days currents might be strong with high waves (up to 2 meter) which makes swimming dangerous.

Common sports in the area: Kite and wave surfing, sailing, paragliding

Walk to the beach: Hof Hashron (entry to southern part, 15 min walk from the cottage) and Hof Sidna Ali (entry to northern part, 15 min walk from the cottage)

Herzliya / Herzliya Pituach Beach area

Public Transport: Note that public transport stops to operate Friday afternoon until Saturday (Sabbath) afternoon-evening. On Saturday buses start to operate only after the end of the Sabbath. Taxicab and bus services often do not operate late at night.

Food stores and Restaurants: Left to the cottage, you will find at the corner of Keren Ha Yesod and Hanassi street a food store and an Italian restaurant. If you go to the right, towards the direction of Nof Yam you will find, a bit further away, a slightly cheaper supermarket. Restaurants are also available near the southern coast line. You will find also many restaurants in the industrial area as well as some large food stores.

Bank & ATM: There is an ATM for cash withdrawals and a Bank Leumi near Hof Hasharon beach. There is also a bank near the Kfar-Shmaryahu interchange.

Bus: There are two bus lines from different companies that you can use. Bus 29 (Egged) crosses the Hanassi street. It travels between Herzliya Pituach, Herzliya Town, Raanana and Kfar Sava. Depending on the direction you have in mind you will have a station close to the house or one near the Kfar-Shmaryahu intgerchange. Bus 90 (Dan) travels to Tel Aviv. There is a station near the Italian restaurant (Keren Ha Yesod street), just a few minutes walk from the house.

Taxicab [Sheroot]: These are fast and cheap cab- like services that operate a long the Haifa Tel Aviv highway. Pick them up at the Kfar-Shmaryahu interchange. For several NIS they can take you to Tel Aviv or Nathanya where you can follow-up your trip using a taxi or a bus. Ask the driver for operating times.

Train: You can board the Israeli train services in Herzliya. You will need to take bus number 29 or a taxi to get there. Trains run up North to Haifa and Naharia and south to Tel Aviv. For more information, check at the Information desk at the station.

Medical services: There is a large private medical centre near Hof Hasharon beach in Herzliya Pituach, Tel. nr. 09-9592555, 09-9592444). You will find also a pharmacy there.

Another pharmacy (Kuphat Holim) is located in the Nof Yam area, North from the cottage.

You will find large public Hospitals in Tel Aviv (Ichilov Sourasky, Tel. 03-697 4444) and Kfar Sava (Meir Tel. 09-7472555).

Mobile phone: If your phone can accept new SIM cards, you can consider using a local prepaid card from one of the Israeli Telcos. Orange has support for GSM prepaid phones. The service is called Bigtalk.

Post office: There is a small post office in the Nof Yam commercial area. Its located about 15 minutes walk - North - of the cottage.

How to get there

You can rent a car at the airport and return it at the Herzliya Pituach industrial area. Companies like Avis, Hertz and Eldan have offices there. There is a smaller car rental company near Hof Hasharon beach, 15 min walk from the house.

A taxi from the airport to Herzliya Pituach should cost between the 100 and 150 NIS (between 17 and 25 Euro).

There are good bus connections to and from the Kfar-Shmaryahu interchange, located several minutes walk from the cottage. Two bus lines go into Herzliya Pituach (Egged bus 29 and Dan bus 90, see below).

There is a train station in Herlzliya, but you will need a bus or taxi to get there.

Herzliya Pituach itself is not too big. You can walk to most of the places, including the beaches, food stores and restaurants.
