Self contained detached annex in beautiful settings overlooking the meadow and spiny, with own patio covered with grape vines. lovely spot to sit and eat or have a wine in the evening. There is also a shared garden. Fully fitted kitchen /diner with dishwasher & washing machine etc. Ground floor shower and toilet. Upstairs bedsitting room with magnificent views. Electricity on pay as you use meter. Cleaning services are available at cost. We are on a hikers foot path with riding stables, fishing ,golf is a short walk away and cycling clubs. Many famous places to visit and a magnitude of wildlife including red kite which have settled in our area for the last 4 years. Camfield place is a very peaceful spot where Beatrix Potter wrote her Peter Rabbit stories whilst staying with her grandparents in the 1800's and more recently where the late Dame Barbara Cartland wrote her novels. We are within the private grounds of Camfield Place. Transport is essential as there is not any public transport within walking distance. This is a dog walkers paradise, well behaved pets are welcome .
If your party is for more than three people, I can accommodate the extra guests in our cottage, on ROOM ONLY basis. This enables a larger family to still all be together, apart from the sleeping facilities.

BEAUTIFUL COUNTRYSIDE, NATURAL AND UNSPOILT. A HAVEN OF WILD LIFE FROM ROEBUCK DEER TO RED KITE. SET WITHIN THE PRIVATE GROUNDS OF CAMFIELD PLACE , WHERE BEATRIX POTTER WROTE THE PETER RABBIT STORIES WHILST STAYING WITH HER GRANDPARENTS 1890. MORE RECENTLY THE LATE DAME BARBARA CARTLAND LIVED HERE AND WROTE HER FAMOUS NOVELS. THE ESTATE IS STILL MANAGED BY HER FAMILY.
A SHORT WALK FROM HERE IS A MAGNIFICENT GOLF CLUB AND BANQUETING ROOMS. THERE ARE THREE PUBS IN ESSENDON, TWO OF WHICH SERVE BEAUTIFUL HOME COOKED FOOD. A GREAT BASE FOR HIKERS AND CYCLISTS OR FOR A COMPLETE CHILL OUT. THERE ARE SEVERAL HEALTH CLUBS WITH POOLS. RIDING STABLES AND CYCLE HIRE ARE ALSO CLOSE BY, YET WITHIN EASY REACH OF LONDON BY OVER LINE OR TUBE TRAIN. TRANSPORT IS ESSENTIAL AS THERE IS ONLY A BUS ONCE OR TWICE A WEEK, BUT THERE ARE TWO EXCELLENT TAXI RANKS WHICH OPERATE 24HRS AND ARE VERY RELIABLE.
OUR NEAREST AIRPORT IS LUTON THE NEXT BEING, STANSTEAD, HEATHROW AND GATWICK. MOST OF WHICH RUN THE NATIONAL EXPRESS COACHES THAT HAVE SEVERAL DROP OFF POINTS NEAR BY.
THE OLD WORLD TOWN OF HERTFORD IS 3 MILES AWAY AND HAS A MARKET DAY AND THE ANCIENT HERTFORD CASTLE, SURROUNDED BY MANY SMALL COUNTRY VILLAGES.
ST ALBANS IS A 20 MINUTE JOURNEY AWAY, AGAIN AN OLD TOWN WITH ST ALBANS CATHERDRIAL FULL OF HISTORY.
A COUNTRY MARKET IS HELD HERE EVERY WEDNESDAY AND SATURDAY. ST. ALBANS THEATRE HAS SOME EXCELLENT SHOWS AND REVEIWS WITH PLENTY OF RESTURANTS AND BISTROS CLOSE AT HAND.
HATFIELD HOUSE IS 10 MINUTES AWAY AND A MUST FOR VISITORS . LOTS OF EVENTS ARE HELD HERE AND THIS IS A VERY POPULAR VENUE
KNEBWORTH HOUSE IS A 20 MINUTE JOURNEY AWAY AND HAS A MAZE AND GARDENS THAT YOU REALLY CANNOT FIND YOUR WAY OUT OF. APART FROM MANY OTHER ATTRACTIONS.
THE HENRY MOORE FOUNDATION ALSO 20 MINUTES AWAY IS WELL WORTH SEEING WITH THE MOST AMAZING SCULPTURES SPREAD AROUND.
PARADISE PARK ZOO IS A WONDERFUL PLACE FOR YOUNG AND OLD ALIKE AND EVEN HAS ITS OWN PADDLING POOL. THE MOST EXOTIC ANIMALS LIVE HAPPILY HERE FROM PARROTTS TO LIONS. WE HAVE SPENT SOME LOVELY DAYS HERE.
PANGSHANGER FLYING CLUB IS 10 MINS.AWAY WHERE YOU CAN HAVE ONE OFF FLYING LESSONS. SHOOTING CLUBS AND FISHING CLUBS ARE ALSO CLOSE BY .
ALL SEASONS ARE BEAUTIFUL HERE AND EACH ,HAS THAT SPECIAL SOMETHING. WE HAVE LIVED HERE FOR THE PAST 26 YEARS AND STILL WE ARE CAPTURED BY ITS BEAUTY.
