This villa overlooks the 13th fairway on an international multi-award winning golf and spa resort (voted best luxury coastal hotel in the World Luxury Hotel Awards 2007/2008). Play golf and relax afterwards on one of the villa's 2 patio's while sampling wine from the surrounding wine farms. Or just go for a walk along the lagoon, admire the glorious sunset and listen to the sounds of the fish eagle.

A pleasant feature in the lounge is a wood burning stove which creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. A highlight of the villa is the master bedroom with a walk-in dresser en-suite, super king-size bed, and dual aspect double volume glass windows with beautiful views across the natural Fynbos to the 13th fairway during the day and of the crystal clear canopy of stars at night.

The Western Cape region
This region of South Africa, extending from the Atlantic seaboard in the west to the Garden Route and Knysna in the east, is known as the fairest Cape and is one of the world’s most spectacular destinations. With warm balmy summers and mild winters, the Western Cape can be visited all year round. The climate is described as Mediterranean (winter rainfall) with average daily temperatures of around 25 - 26ºC in summer and around 15-16ºC in winter. The Western Cape is home to Cape Town, famed for its beautiful beaches and set against the dramatic backdrop of Table Mountain. Further afield, the Western Cape has even more to offer, including the wonderful sun-drenched vineyards of the Cape Winelands and magnificent mountain passes, one of which will take you to the stunning Overberg (Over the Mountain) region where you will find Arabella Country Estate.
Hermanus / Arabella Country Estate area
Arabella Country Estate is situated in the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve, declared by UNESCO a World Biosphere and earmarked by it as a World Heritage Site. Located in the heart of South Africa's Cape Floral Kingdom, this is an area of stunning scenery and incredible botanical diversity. The reserve is also home to over 200 bird species, including the African fish eagle and the Blue Crane (national bird of South Africa), as well as small antelope, the endangered micro-frog and a herd of marshland wild horses. Believed to be South Africa’s only herd of wild horses in a wetland habitat, the herd can be glimpsed at the Bot River lagoon area, next to Rooisands Nature Reserve.
On the Estate, the five-star Arabella Western Cape Hotel & Spa overlooks an award winning 18-hole golf course set on the banks of one of the largest natural lagoons in South Africa. The Arabella golf course is ranked by Compleat Golfer magazine as the top golf course in the Western Cape and is featured in Golf Digest's USA's Top 60 courses outside of America. Fairways are kikuyuy with Dominant Bent grass greens. World class golfers who have enjoyed this course include Jack Nicklaus, Ernie Els, Retief Goosen, Tim Clark, Lee Westwood and Sam Torrance. Join these greats to experience the thrill of a championship golf course.
The Arabella Western Cape Hotel & Spa Wellness Centre has been recognised as amongst the ‘100 best Spas of the World’. The Hotel offers a veriety of dining venues including Barnabas Bar, the Laguna Lounge, Cristobal's Cigar Bar, the Premiere Restaurant for formal dining and the family orientated Jamanji Restaurant. Various recreational and adventure activites can be arranged through the Hotel including helicopter tours, quad biking and canoeing on the lagoon.
The Estate is a 5 min drive from the tranquil coastal town of Keinmond with its beautiful pristine white sand beaches. Nature lovers can enjoy the hiking trails along the coastal walkway and for the more adventurous there are a number of hiking trails in the mountains. For the really adventurous, there is ab-sailing, climbing, dune surfing or river-rafting. Freshy caught seafood and a taste of the local artists can be enjoyed at the Kleinmond Harbour. Further along the coast towards Betty's Bay is the Harold Porter National Botanical Garden. This beautiful secluded garden is set between mountain and sea in the heart of the Cape Fynbos region, and encompasses ten hectares of cultivated Fynbos garden and 190 hectares of pristine natural Fynbos to be explored on foot. Another must see it the African Penquin Colony at Stony Point in Betty's Bay. Their only predator in this area is the leopard.
In the opposite direction along the coast, the Estate is a 25 min drive from the hustle and bustle of the larger coastal resort Hermanus, a world renowned whale watching site. From June to December, Southern Right whales can be seen from the coastline, where they come to mate and calf. There are numerous restaurants, museums, upmarket shops and adventure activities (whale watching and Great White shark cage diving) to be enjoyed. On the way to Hermanus, you can sample the wonderful fresh seafood at the famous Milkwood restaurant in Onrus, or take a lazy dip in the Onrus lagoon and rock pools perfect for swimming. You will also pass through the Hemel-en-Aarde (Heaven-and-Earth) valley with its hidden gems - it is home to some of South Africa’s best loved wine farms (Hamilton Russel and Bouchard Finlayson) and wonderful restaurants. Enjoy dining al-fresco on the La Vierge champagne balcony overlooking the valley winelands after tasting some of South Africa's fine wines.
This is truly an out-of this-world experience for any discerning holiday maker that enjoys the finer things in life!
