The open plan interior design offers stunning sea vistas that meet your eyes all around.

The large spacious kitchen is fully equipped and has a built-in barbeque. The open-plan lounge and dining areas lead onto the wrap-around balcony with 180 degree sea views, making this the ideal get-a-way for whale watching and unwinding. The lower lounge lead out onto the enclosed pool area.

Shops and restaurants are less than 1 km away.

Shore's Edge offers the perfect stay whatever the weather. With underfloor heating, a cosy log-fire and indoor BBQ, one can watch the dramatic waves from the comfort of your bed in winter. Alternatively, the private swimming pool and outdoor garden, combined with the ocean in front of the house, ensures the ultimate summer beach experience!

Shore's Edge is the place to be no matter the season. A stone's throw from some of the most beautiful beaches along Walker Bay, it is the ideal spot to soak up the sun's rays in summer or curl up on the couch in front of the cosy log fireplace in winter.

From July to November whales can be admired in their multitudes from the guesthouse, cliff path, or during a boat cruise. Shark cage diving, a round of golf or a hike through the nature reserves ensures a healthy appetite!

The Western Cape region

The Old Harbour Museum gives visitors an insight into the history of the village. There is a telescope above the Old Harbour for visitors to see the giant visitors when they are far out in the bay. De Wet's Huis Photo Museum provides a fantastic photographic documentation of the history and development of the town. The Whale House presents daily slide shows throughout the year explaining the life cycle of our fascinating annual visitors, the Southern Right Whales.

The beauty and magic of Hermanus has attracted many famous artists. The town has thus become home to a number of Galleries that house both local and international works.

The village holds several Festivals and Events every year, including a Passion Play in the Old Harbour; celebrates the arrival of the whales in the bay with the Whale Festival (which is an art and environmental feast); offers some of the best local and national theatre productions (mainly in Afrikaans) at the Kalfiefees; serves the most glorious seafood at the Hawston Sea Festival (December); and chases away winter chills at the Food & Wine Fair (July) with delicious cuisine and delectable wines from over 60 exhibitors.
