The Western Cape region

The Western Cape has a Mediterranean climate with winter rains and warm, dry summers. Summer months are from September to April. The Western Cape is famous for it's wine and fruit production, majestic mountians, flora and fauna and relaxed way of live.

Hermanus / Sandbaai area

Hermanus is one of the best land-based whale watching towns in the world. Every year from beginning September to the end of December, great Southern Right Whales can be seen calving and playing alongside dolpins and seals in Walker Bay. Hermanus has excellent choice of restaurants and a couple of minutes drive will bring you to some international well known wine estates various golf courses, nature reserves, hiking trails and walks in the mountains or along the ocean. Adventure activities consists of underwater viewing of Great White Sharks, paragliding, chartered fising trips, horse riding and water sport activities. Hermanus also has various art galleries, pottery's and craft studios.

How to get there

Fly into Cape Town Int. Airport - take N2 motorway towards Somerset West - after about 70km (43 miles) on N2 take R44 for Hermanus - Sandbaai turn is about 2km (1.5 miles) before Hermanus town and well marked.

Conditions

Because of stair case, small children should be supervised at all times. Kitchen and living area is situated on first floor and bedrooms on ground floor.
