Home description

Green Farm Cottage was once a working barn and has now been converted to offer sizeable accommodation for up to 7 people. There are 2 king-size bedrooms and one family-room with an adult bed and children’s bunks, making this a perfect retreat for families and friends. It is located just 8 miles from the city of Hereford, in a small village called Felton.

The cottage has its own garden, perfect for summer dining and barbeques, but is also served by an open fire so that you can still explore the region in the colder months. If there are any anglers in the group, trout-fishing can be arranged at a private lake, through the owner.






The Heart of England / Peak District / Herefordshire region

Encompassing the Cotswolds, Shropshire and the Welsh Borders, this true “heart of England” offers honey coloured stone cottages, country towns and tranquil countryside. Shropshire delights with its variety. Whether exploring the castle, narrow streets or fine dining of Ludlow, strolling by the river in medieval Shrewsbury or discovering delightful Church Stretton, Bridgnorth or Bishops Castle, you can be assured of plenty to see and sample. Even the museums and attractions are wide ranging; from the industrial investigations to ecologically informative nature centres, and even the chance to step back in time and visit a working Victorian village.

Even the landscape alters, from the hills, heaths and deep wooded valleys of the Welsh borderlands to the magnificent, moorland scenery of the Long Mynd, while the beautiful Teme, Clu, Corve and Onny valleys host an amazing variety of wildlife. You can even take a walk on the wild side among the legendary Stiperstones, at Wenlock Edge and within the stunning Clee Hills. Herefordshire offers visitors the chance to journey through lush green countryside, enjoying splendid black-and-white timbered villages, a magnificent cathedral city, a fairytale Georgian castle at Eastnor or books galore in famous Hay-on-Wye. And if all that touring leaves you thirsty, lashings of Herefordshire cider should do the trick!


Hereford / Felton area

Set on the banks of the Wye, Hereford is a peculiar mix of ancient and modern, still managing to retain the feel of a market-town. The cathedral here dates back to around 1079 and is home to the Mappa Mundi; the ancient map of the world. Hereford also boasts its own Saxon Bridge which helps add to the city’s historical character. The town centre offers mainly traffic-free shopping that will suit all tastes, from High Street stores to street markets throughout.

In addition to the many attractions of the city itself, there are numerous things to see and do beyond Hereford. Nearby Leominster offers fantastic golfing or you can hire canoes and take in the splendour of the Wye Valley from the river that runs through it.

Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the Low and Mid periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday.

Last Minute Breaks (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the LOW, MID, HIGH, PEAK, XMAS and NEW YEAR periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.
