Cottage | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 2
"...Out of the ordinary..."
Ivy Cottage is a beautiful 18th century cottage which has been lovingly restored to retain the wonderful architectural features whilst ensuring our guests are provided with 21st century comfort & luxury. Initially home to the many Estate gamekeepers over the decades, the restoration was completed in December 2010.
The moment you open the little wooden gate and walk down the brick path between the herb beds, you will find yourself relaxing into the world of "Brinsop Court". Open the stable door into the AGA warmed, beamed kitchen and you will realise what a truly relaxing rural retreat this cottage offers away from the hum drum of everyday life.
Ivy Cottage has many secluded spots with amazing views for quiet contemplation enjoy the sound of birdsong and watch the buzzards soaring over the woodland whilst enjoying your breakfast tucked away in your own private garden or enjoy an evening star gazing while lying in the hot tub.
Curl up on the sofa in front of the glowing wood burner and look down across the valley to the woodland and the Black Mountains beyond, or lie back and enjoy your favourite film on the 42" plasma screen TV.
There is a walk in shower room downstairs which is ideal to wash away the glow after an energetic walk or game of tennis - rackets and balls are provided.
Sink into the carpet as you climb the original staircase to the bedroom, which has views down across the valley to the woodland, it has a large zip and link bed which can be a double or twin room, the choice is yours - step across the landing to the state of the art bathroom complete with walk in shower, TV, teardrop bath and crystal chandelier not forgetting the three windows which give you views from three different aspects.
As in our other properties all bedlinen, towels and bathrobes are Eqyptian cotton.
Babies and well-behaved pets are very welcome and bound to have an unforgettable time at Ivy Cottage!

"Perfect romantic getaway"
We were lucky to spend Christmas 2013 in Ivy Cottage. We wanted to find somewhere that appealed to us and also allowed dogs. After an incredibly frustrating search (note to other rental properties – dog owners tend to have a lot of disposable income and do not want to rent somewhere that is either 'basic' or full of tired looking chintz), I came across the Brinsop Court Estate website.
Phew. A dedicated management team that have put together a group of properties that offer absolute high-end luxury.
Ivy Cottage is the smallest of all of the properties on the estate that can be hired, but that doesn't mean that it hasn't had the full boutique treatment. Whilst watching the TV from the huge bath upstairs, I pondered about anything that could be changed and am happy to say that there really isn't a negative about the entire experience. The meet and greet from Jonathan was lovely and the efforts of the other teams members to look out for us made us feel completely relaxed and at home.
We spent an absolutely idyllic week at Ivy Cottage. A hot tub with Champagne on Christmas Day was a treat, as was cooking the Christmas lunch in an Aga for the first time ever.
We will definitely be back.
