Only five miles from Wellington, the property is partially surrounded by the castle’s original moat and stream and has been carefully renovated to provide comfortable accommodation. Able to sleep four people – across one double bedroom and one single bedroom, with pull out bed – this former guardhouse will capture the imagination of any child. With the village of Wellington only five away, Lady Margaret Cottage, is a well situated base for exploring the local area.

Devon, with its quiet country lanes and patchwork of lush green fields, sleepy villages is not to be missed. Surf its north coast beaches, explore the rugged charms of Dartmoor’s peaks, cycle the Tarka Trail or explore Rosemoor’s fabulous RHS garden. Stately home lovers will be spoiled with Cotehele, Castle Drogo and St Anthony House nearby, and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?
Hemyock area
Situated in the beautiful Culm Valley, the small, historic village of Hemyock nestles amongst the incredible Blackdown Hills. With its Norman castle, adjacent parish church and welcoming traditional country pub, the village also boasts two shops and a small post office. With horse riding facilities very close by and the village of Wellington – complete with award winning park – within driving the distance, the town is well served by local amenities. Wellington also offers a further selection of pubs, crafts and gifts, as well as a monthly farmer’s market, attracting traders from throughout the region. With traditional lace and pottery stores, the nearby town of Honiton is only a short drive away through pretty countryside and hosts a weekly market, a more regular alternative to that in Wellington.

Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the 'Winter' period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental.
Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the 'Low' and 'Mid' periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday.
'Last Minute Breaks' (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the 'Low', 'Mid', 'HIGH', 'PEAK', 'XMAS' and 'NEW YEAR' periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.
