The Forge was a working forge (pre-l950) before being converted into a home. The holiday cottage is self-contained, has lots of character and is attached to the owner's home. On the ground floor is a kitchen/diner with a television, small log burner, tiled floor and paddle staircase leading to the bedroom/sitting area. The kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, fridge with frozen food compartment and microwave. Use of washing machine and dryer is available in the owner's adjoining garage. Also on the ground floor is a shower room with good sized shower, wash basin, toilet, under-floor heating and heated towel rail. On the first floor there is a double bed and a comfortable sitting area where you can relax and enjoy the view. As well as the wood burner there is oil-fired central heating. At the rear of the property is a private patio with gas barbecue which overlooks the fields and the sea. Bed linen, towels (except for beach towels), electricity and gas are included in the rental. There is off-road parking for one car.

During your stay a free boat trip is offered from Cadgwith with Nigel Legge in Razorbill as featured in Monty Halls 'The Fisherman's Apprentice'.

During the winter months we are happy to take short breaks - please email or phone for details

The West Country region

The whole of Cornwall is an area of outstanding natural beauty, but The Lizard in particular is very unspoilt and, being on the southernmost tip of England, tends to have its own climate and is, on the whole, milder than further north. The coastline is spectacular and there are sandy beaches as well as small coves with fishing boats.

Helston

The Lizard village is surrounded on three sides by spectacular cliff footpaths and has two pubs and several cafes including the most southerly café in Britain and the lovely Coast Coffee Bar and Bistro. This area is ideal for a peaceful and relaxing break with the opportunity to do plenty of walking, beaching and eating!
