Galway is the capital of the West of Ireland and is a buzzing university city with lots of visitor attractions such as Eyre Square, Lynch’s Castle, Church of St Nicholas, Kirwan’s Lane, The Spanish Arch Meiaevial Walls, the Claddagh, Galway Cathederal, the Salmon Weir Bridge, and lots, lots more.

Galway hosts many festivals throughout the year to mention just a few – Arts week, Galway races, Salthill Airshow, or the Oyster festival.

Headford is ideally located for touring the West of Ireland. It is fortunate in it’s location, just 25 kilometres from Galway City and practically on the shores of the beautiful Lough Corrib. It has a huge range of activities for holidaymakers to enjoy.

There are excellent links and parkland golf courses within easy reach of Headford. The Angler can enjoy fishing on Lough Corrib and Lough Mask which are abundant with Salmon and Trout. Horse riding and trekking is another popular way to unwind in nearby Connemara.

There are walking trails to suit all tastes both around Galway city and in the countryside. Hill walkers will find many fine routes in Connemara and the Twelve Bens. Water sports are also available along the beautiful coastline. Here in Headford you will find the perfect blend of country life, but within easy reach of the lively and friendly city of Galway.
