Galway, also known as the capital of the West of Ireland is a lively and vibrant city. It is rich in culture and history with many beautiful walks. Galway hosts many festivals throughout the year including the Galway Races, the Salthill Air show and the world famous Oyster festival held in Clarenbridge. From small boutiques, jewellery shops and larger stores such as Marks and Spencer, Galway can cater for most shopaholics.
Situated only 23km from Galway City, Headford is in an ideal location. Only a few minutes drive from Lough Corrib the second largest in Ireland which is renowned by anglers for it's fishing.
Headford has several points of interest one of which is Ross Emily friary which was founded in 1351 and is now described as the best preserved monastic in Ireland.
Things to do: Horse riding is available on the Headford Road or in nearby Clonboo or Moycullen or why not take a day trip to the Aran Islands.
