This charming character cottage is totally tucked away and surrounded by beautiful countryside in the High Weald area of outstanding Natural Beauty. There are four bedrooms and three reception rooms (one with an open fire) as well as a newly fitted kitchen and dining area. Outside there are uninterrupted views to enjoy sundowners while the sun sets over the distant hills.
The cottage has a 2 acre garden and overlooks a field to the countryside beyond. The property has direct access to a golf course and a huge network of walks throughout Sussex. It is an hour from London and half an hour from the beaches on the south-coast. It is also only 4 km away from the mainline where trains to London take 45 minutes meaning a family holiday can still accommodate trips back to London or elsewhere.

The South East England / Sussex region
Sussex, Hampshire and Kent can all be explored from this area along with the added benefit of being a very short way away from London. The climate is as good as it gets in England with summer evenings enjoying sunsets at 9.30pm. The county of Sussex has a great deal to offer the holidaymaker, with the seaside towns of Brighton and Chichester, Goodwood Racecourse and festivals, as well as extensive countryside walks throughout the High and Low Weald and the South Downs.
Haywards Heath / Cuckfield area
The ancient village of Cuckfield lies within the North, and South Weald areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village has pubs, restaurants and two grocery shops. Haywards Heath is within 4km and has many bars, restaurants and shops. The Independent State of Cuckfield was established in the 1965 and the local community now holds annual elections to vote in a Mayor to distribute funds for good causes in the area. The village has a five star hotel The Ockenden Manor and 2 Spa Rooms for treatments and pampering. Borde Hill Estate is across the road from the cottage and hosts many entertainments as well as having a large adventure playground and stunning gardens. There are many golf courses as well as horse riding, shooting and fishing opportunites nearby. There are sports centres nearby in Haywards Heath Burges Hill and Crawley. Many events occur in the viallge and pass through such as the Old Crocks Race from London to Brighton as well as the bike race.
How to get there
From London by Car you leave the M23 at Junction 10A. Cuckfield is 5 miles along the B2036, 2.5 miles after Balcombe. From the South Cuckfield is located just north of the A272 between Haywards Heath and the A23.
Gatwick airport is 20 minutes away by car, following the same directions as above.

Further details indoors: The cottage has one twin bedroom downstairs, directly next to the bathroom. Upstairs there is one single room, a double room with a double bed and dual aspect windows with great views over the countryside to the West. The largest bedroom has a double bed with a full-size trundle bed. This room has plenty of space for a further bed or a travel cot if needed.
There are two reception rooms allowing children and adults to enjoy their own agendas with the additional benefit of a games room containing table football and a piano to add to the fun. The kitchen has just been installed with the benefit of a double oven, and extensive equipment for the chef! There is a traditional pantry which also houses a full utility area.
Further details outdoors: The cottage is perfect for lovers of the outdoors. There is outdoor furniture for lunches and evening meals. A gas barbeque is provided along with an outdoor fire to keep the fun going outside in the evenings. The gardens go around the house with a sweeping driveway providing ample parking for four cars.

A deposit of 50% of the rental costs is payable on booking and in the event of cancellation is not refundable unless the cottage can be re-let (minus a 20% administration charge). We therefore recommend you take out holiday insurance. The balance, to include a £250 breakages deposit, is due no later than 6 weeks before arrival.
Ashbourne will have been cleaned before your arrival; further cleaning throughout the rental period can be arranged (at tenant's own cost). The property is available from 4pm on the first day and must be vacated at 10am on the day of departure.
It may be possible to arrange a baby sitter if required.
