Haydon Bridge is a pretty village on the River Tyne, situated almost exactly halfway between Newcastle upon Tyne and Carlisle. It has good local amenities including a Co-op, Post Office, newsagent, pharmacy, pub/restaurant, Indian takeaway, fish and chip shop, 3 pubs and an excellent local butcher.
Haydon Bridge offers some of the best Salmon fishing in England and Wales and the surrounding hills and fields contain numerous beautiful walking and cycling routes, right from the doorstep. Close by are Hadrian's Wall, Haydon Old Church, Langley Castle and the historic market town of Hexham with its Abbey and pretty winding streets. Within easy driving distance are Newcastle upon Tyne, Carlisle, Northumberland National Park, Kielder Water and Forest Park, the picturesque Allen Valley and the beautiful Northumberland coastline.
