"A perfect retreat in the heart of Hay"

A lovely base from which to sample the delights of Hay - eating, shopping, walking and generally relaxing. This older property on three floors has been refurbished and equipped to a high standard. Its light and modern interior (in neutral and muted tones) is clean, spacious and super-comfortable - it was a delight to return at the end of each day, to sink into the sofa with a glass of wine and feel completely 'at home'. The combination of modern and antique furnishings was quirky and personable, retaining character but with a contemporary feel. The care and attention provided by the owners is evident, and their desire for guests to enjoy their stay is palpable. Although we didn't use it, the DVD and music collection was varied and up-to-date, with something to suit all tastes. We would hope to return in the not-too-distant future!

Thank you for such a generous review.

"We had a lovely stay in this comfortable, well-equipped and lovely house"

The house is very central, and so handy for all the bookshops, cafes, pubs etc. The kitchen is particularly well equipped - and there are good local food shops (deli, fruit and veg, butcher). We certainly hope to stay here again, next time we come to Hay on Wye.

The owner was very friendly and helpful - and left a lovely stock of food (including Welsh cakes!) for our arrival.

Thank you so much for your kind review. I'm so pleased that you enjoyed your stay !

"Beautiful warm, cosy town house in a fantastic location for shopping and sightseeing!"

Just arrived home from a wonderful break of 3 nights with my husband, and elderly parents. The house is extremely comfortable, tastefully decorated and in a great location, near to shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants.
Communication with the owner has been easy, we feel that we have been looked after very well!
Hope to return again next year!

Thank you for your lovely review.

"A wonderful base within Hay on Wye"

My daughter and I had a wonderful weekend break at The New Old Inn in Nov. We booked this property as it offered luxurious accommodation in the centre of Hay. The house is comfortable, decorated to a high standard and is very well equipped for self catering. The location of the house meant that we could pop back from the shops in a matter of minutes to drop off our latest finds and have a well deserved cuppa.
The only downside of the house is the lack of parking, however the main car park in Hay is only a few minutes away from the property, and though you have to re-ticket your car every morning at 8, the view from the car park is well worth getting up for. You have to pay for parking, but we felt £2.50 a day was very reasonable.
The communication with the owner was excellent and so too was the standard of the housekeeping.
We will definitely stay again. In fact we are already talking about booking for Nov 2014.

Thank you Wendy for a really lovely comment.
