The surrounding area offers beautiful views of fields, the Black mountains and the river Wye with excellent walks and outdoor activities available in the area. There are many excellent restaurants and pubs nearby and the quaint market town of hay has book stores, boutiques, art and antique shops amongst the village stores.

The outbuildings at Glanhenwye were converted from the original barns and stables to a modern complex still retaining it's authentic feel and features. The interiors are stylish, spacious and designed to spend memorable times in, whatever the weather.

The Powys/Brecon Beacons region

The Wye valley offers many outdoor activities, good restaurants and pubs and historic places to visit. There is plenty to nearby and we are well situated for day trips to the coast, Cardiff and the mountains.

Hay-On-Wye

Glasbury is small rural village at the foot of the Black Mountains, there are two good pubs and one great restaurant, a village shop and postoffice. The Wye Valley Walk footpath comes by the property, there is an outdoor pursuits centre and a canoe rental. In summer the pebble beach is great for swimming and picknicks.

Hay offers many boutiques, book shops, pubs and restaurants, bicycle rental, supermarket, delli and general shops. Hay is famous for it's second hand book shops and literary festivals (late May and Early December).

There is a relaxed atmosphere throuout the area, with plenty to do and plenty of places to do nothing but take in the beautiful sites of the Wye valley.
